I always thought that Sasha would flourish with D'Antoni as his coach. I'd ship him for the right price.
I can't imagine the Lakers trading Sasha unless he's part of a package deal. He's our only other zone buster besides Radman and I can't imagine the Lakers getting someone better than Sasha from another team in the league.
So we sign him to a contract and now we want to get rid of him? I see no point in trading Sasha. He's a great shooter and I like having him out there when the game is on the line. He is someone I would trust taking the last shot, believe it or not. The main reason why he has struggled so far is because of lineups. He was most effective last year playing with Kobe and Pau, and hasn't seen that many minutes on the court this year with them. Also, he is the only shooting guard besides Kobe on this roster. What happens if we trade him? Ariza could plug in, but even with his improved shooting, he's nowhere near the shooter as Sasha.
Honestley I beleived sasha was just a contract year wonder and would go back to his mediocre self so if we can get some solid value I am all for it
I was afraid of the contract year wonder business...lord almighty, like Mamba said, I'd ship him for the right price.
for the right package I'd do it if I were the lakers.....Fisher can shoot the 3, Kobe can shoot the 3, Radman can shoot the 3, and so can Farmar....lakers needed someone who can play defense and another tough attitude.....the ideal situation would be to move Odom........
Moving Odom for Wallace would be the ideal trade, at least in my opinion. He's an athletic wing that plays defense better than anyone on this team, at least in my book. His injury history scares the shit out of me, but he'd be a perfect fit in that starting lineup. Moving Sasha seems pointless right now. He's one of our best three point shooters and is money against the zone. He's also been pretty damn clutch so far in his career, and he's a solid defensive player. I'd move him for the right package, but it has to be someone that can stretch the defense just as well as him,
I'm not a big Sasha fan at all, but he will be a good fit for us. He will be the Knicks only real consistent shooter. The only problem is his contract which goes against our 2010 plan. Unless the Lakers are willing to take back Jeffries, which I doubt.
Sasha is not a lock for this team or anything, for the right player we could sacrifice some of his shooting for a more standout defender at the 2.
