Re: Young Point Guard Rank Em's

Over the recent years, there have been handfuls of very talented young point guards with potential to be very nice players for years and years to come. Of these guys, who do you think if the best. I think the two point guards that stand out of the pack are Chris Paul, and Shaun Livingston. Chris Paul is with out a doubt, the best of the group so far. He has had a terrific rookie season, and has even got some MVP talk recently. Shaun Livingston is a special player because he has the size of a forward, but all the skills necessary to play point guard. He is a very talented offensive player, who can both score and pass. Some other young guys I like are Devin Harris and Sebastian Telfair. Devin Harris is a smart pure point guard who really captures all those pure point guard aspects. He knows how to control tempos, get his teammates the ball where they want it, and just flat out lead a team. Sebastian is a guy that could end up being just like his cousin Stephon Marbury. While he doesn't have the best desicision making, and passing abilities, he more then makes up for that with his scoring. Hes real quick, and has a good amount of strength, making him real tough to guard. Some other guys that look good early in there careers are Delonte West, Deron Williams, Jose Calderon, Chris Duhon, and Raymond Felton.

Jose Calderon is alright but i'm not as high on him as much as some other people...he's 24 years old and needs lots of work....Everyone knows about Paul, Livingston...etc.

Chris Paul will be the best PG in the league within five years. If you want to compare him to someone (stat-wise), how about LeBron?Rookie StatsLeBron - 20.9 PPG on 42% shooting, 5.5 RPG, 5.9 APG(miss playoffs)Paul - 15.9 PPG on 43% shooting, 5.6 RPG, 7.7 APG(6th seed in playoffs)Pretty nice.

I like this topic, for Shaun, great potential but he seems injury prone. Tends to be his small frame in the NBA that's causing it. Needs to bulk up. But he's got great court vision, good height, needs to work on jumper. Same goes for Telfair, to be a good scorer, he needs to be able to knock down a jumper. On Harris, I think he's a Tony Parker clone in the way he's quick and loves to drive. Passing is improving. Delonte West didn't seem like a pg to me out of college playing off guard to Jameer, but he's proved me wrong. Good defensive pg as well. Now, the newbies, Paul easily the best pg of the bunch, no need for words. Felton I like, guy is a trip doub threat when he gets the starting nod. Deron Williams should be a incomplete so far, we know he can play from college, but he's yet to really break into the NBA. I like Calderon, because he's got good pg skills, and hustles out there and unlike some players in the NBA he's got good work ethic. Time and experience should be his only drawback. Once he get's through those, should be a top pg imo.

Chris Paul will EASILY be the best. Shaun Livingston, Sebastian Telfair, Raymond Felton will be up there with him.

Paul is definitely the easy choice here.

i'm gonna definitely have to go with chris paul. the dude can ball. simple as that. and he is having the most impact on his team among all the other young pg's. tj ford will be good if he can stay healthy but paul is hands down the best young pg. deron williams is pretty solid too.

He only takes shots when the clock may be running down, the guys only made 1 3-ball in career.Sebastian Telfair - doesn't score a lot always and has very low assist avgs.

From what I have seen in Canada from Jose, I really am impressed. I like how he runs the floor and passes the ball. Once he gets a shot he will be great.

I never mentioned Stephon Marbury, so I don't know where Hm01 got him from.

ok i might skip some people. But best young Pg's is kinda hard to pickImma go with a list ofChris PaulKirk HinrichChris DuhonDeron WilliamsDevin HarrisI love how these guys play. They are playmakers . Which is what everyteam needs.Yeah Marbury can score but he isnt great. I saw he was onones list. Marbury is a 20 and 8 player though. It looks great on paper but those who watch him know he really isnt that great of a pg. He CANT lead a team
