    Dec 16 VS Sacramento Kings

After a nice rest and a rare long weekend off Portland plays host to the visiting Sacramento Kings.

Gametime is 7 pm Pacific time.

We last played the Kings on November 24 at the Rose Garden in a game that was closer than it should have been, squeaking by with a 91-90 victory. It took 28 points from Brandon Roy and a little luck at the end to win the game. Coach Nate said after the game that the team had dodged a bullet.

Reggie Theus is toast. He was fired Monday and replaced by assistant Kenny Natt. Assistant Chuck Person was also given his walking papers.

The Kings responded by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves last night.

Rumor has it that injured guard Kevin Martin may have had something to do with the firings. His former agent was recently hired by the Kings as assistant GM. Yesterday was his first day on the job. Theus and Person were let go first thing in the morning.

Brad Miller is a big difference maker for them vs. us. I dislike playing teams like Sac because their big guys like the perimeter, which hurts Greg and Joel and makes them struggle.

They really aren't a bad team, imo. When healthy, like the Clips, they are better than their record.

Is anyone else really looking forward to watching our team play tonight? I really enjoy watching our team. Probably more than any other team in recent memory.

Its been 3 days of dwelling on the 1-4 slide, but I think we are going to get back on track tonight. Hopefully they are rested and ready to kick ass.

I am! I really believe they just needed a few days between games to relax and get some practice in. I think they're going to come out mad at themselves and on fire. I would not be surprised to see a blow out.

    GO BLAZERS!!!!

Mentally, as a fan, I need a win in a big way. The Orlando game kicked me in the gut, but was still feeling good. That Clipper game has made me put down the sports page for a few days a start reading some other section. Now I'm reading about 8% unemployment in Oregon and most predict it continue to increase . . . ugh.

Like I said . . . I sure could use a Blazer victory . . . so I can ignore other news and focus on what is really important.

    Go Blazers!
