AI is a pretty horrible defensive player. He doesnt stay with his man at all, he just tries to steal the ball, as a result, people blow by him constantly.

^ Great post.Kobe gets almost 2 steals per game also throughout his career. No question, AI is the better ball thief. Anyways, I sort of feel bad for Iverson. He wants to stay on a crappy team that doesn't want him that much anymore... I respect him for that. That is something I would do in his shoes.
AI plays the passing lanes better than almost everybody else in the league, and that is because of his background of being a cornerback (and quarterback) on his high school football team. Kobe is without a doubt the better man-to-man defender.AirBlaze, I totally agree with you about Iverson's loyalty. Most superstar players would demand a trade, but he has adamantly stated he would prefer to stay in Philly and try to win a ring there rather than chase one (like Malone and Payton). There are only four, maybe five guys in the league who would also feel that way.
Yep. Shaq is not one of them.I'll name them.1)AI2)Kobe (couldve signed with any team in 04 offseason)3)KG (everyone's saying he's fed up. he has NEVER said that publicly, but he HAS SAID PUBLICLY, that he's "from minnesota" and that he wants to stay there.i can't name anyone else
I'd throw Duncan in there simply because he just seems like the kind of guy who will do anything to win. I can't see him demanding a trade if the Spurs became crappy.Others would probably be Paul Pierce... and there was another player in my mind but I can't remember who anymore. I would put LBJ and Wade on there, but they are too young at the moment, and I really don't know what they would do in that situation.
I dont like Kobe for some reason but he is definitely better than AI, he can score more, get the same amount of steals, play better man-to-man D, and pretty much do everything AI can better.

You should be thanking kobe seeing as how he got shaq traded and gave you a chance at a championship

Heat fans who love Shaq always hate Kobe and say he ran Shaq outta town. Well if that is true, shouldn't you be grateful for Kobe?

Right now Kobe Bryant is the best in NBA. But Allen I used to be better then him. But right now Kobe Bryant is better then him and Kobe Bryant is the best in the league..
This isnt even close. Kobe is by far better than AI. The best thing that Allen does is score, and Kobe does that better than him. Kobe has a worse team now and his team had a better record and they ALMOST beat Phoenix in a 7 game series. Its unfair to say that AI made it to the finals with no help because it was in the EASTERN CONFERENCE where there were no good teams at the time. Also, it doesnt matter, they got dominated in the finals anyways. Kobe is on a different level of basketball than AI.

I think Kobe is the best player in the NBA, but his selfishness (Needed or not) to me is just stupid, and I personally think it is slightly unnecassary. 27 shots per game? Come on now. However, during his 1st round series this year, I was rooting for him as much as anyone. Pass the ball Kobe, and haters will calm down... Atleast I will
WOW AI, and Kobe been my 2 fav players in the NBA for years now.Iverson: 1 Better at steals2. Better in assists espacially last 2 season starting to get more players involved. (I did see Kobe trying to get everyone involved in this year playoffs)Kobe: 1. Better D by a lot2. Better at rebounds of course ( But I gotta say AI is like 8 inches less then Kobe, and Kobe only get's like 3 more rebounds then AI. )Both can score, but until last season AI was better at it. Kobe did have Shaq for years. AI would have won titles if he played with Shaq also.AI did take a team to the finals by him self. Kobe did not do that yet even though I think he can after this season when he had no one, and took his team to a game 7 of the first round.AI had no body who was a true 2 guys for our team until Webber, and when we got Webber he was pass his prime old, and his knee was after the surgery. So he does not play D worse then AI on D. There for when you combine AI, and Webber who both don't play D it's hard to win. And even Korver started at the start of the season with AI, and Webber. So you had 3 guys who did not play any D starting for all most half the games. And even when Korver started to come of the bench you still had AI, and Webber with no D that killed our team. Bottom line when no one except Iguodala for us played D you can't really win to many games. And there is no saying what AI could have done with a player like Shaq on his team. If you think about it he had no sure thing #2 in any of his years in the NBA. Except for Webber who is on one leg after surgery, and pass his prime.Hard to say who is better both great.

As I have said a million times, AI has been better for about 8 of the 10 years each has been in the league, but in 2002-2003, and this past year, KObe was the better player. Both are playing by far the best basketball in their careers, but Kobe is approaching MJ level and is just a notch above AI.
