Because the Wiz are shitting the bed, this trade *might* work.

    Thoughts?

    Real GM says it's good.

    Caron Butler/Nick Young (filler)
    for
    Raef LaFrentz

The Wiz only makes this deal for cap space. They are horrible. With Arenas coming back, they could acquire another player in FA that could make them better.

Then the Blazers would have to deal either Outlaw or Webster. I haven't figured that part out yet. KP could do it.

You've got to be kidding. The Wizards are not trading away their best player for cap space.

I'd rather have Gerald Wallace by a long shot, but that trade is a steal similar to the Lakers getting Gasol.

I have to agree.....that would be Chris Wallace with a Memphis zip code.

Side note, I would love to have Butler and I'd even throw in Ike with Travis and Raef to do it. :ghoti:

    LMAO....

    Sheesh.

If by "might" you mean the Wizards want us to include Greg Oden. Then yes.

    But this? WOW. :biglaugh:

Remember how the Kwame, Crittendon, rights to Marc Gasol for Pau deal was pretty much universally panned as horribly lopsided in favor of the Lakers? Well now, take that terrible trade and multiply it by ten and you get a broken down Raef Lafrentz for All-star Caron Butler.

From the Wizards perspective, there are no free agents coming up in this year's FA crop that would be a noticeable improvement over Caron Butler.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Ouch. This takes the cake for pie-in-the-sky. So to speak.

Caron Butler is a tremendous player, still young-prime and not overpaid. He is not the type of player you can get for expiring contracts.

Word. Maybe that's why the OP added Nick Young (who is a nice young prospect) to the trade... :drumroll:

What's funnier, is that he calls Nick Young a filler!

Sorry, I don't want to be mean, but this trade is ridiculous.

    Ok, I'll stop.

I seriously apologize for my rudeness.

That's a far dumber exaggeration than the original post. (Which was absurd mind you.)

It would take Oden to get Carol Butler? Riiiiight.

#1 why would they get rid of there best player for absolutely nothing

#2 why would they throw Nick Young one of there best young prospects who looks legit as a filler

How much better of a player than Caron Butler could they really get in free agency? Not worth it on their part.

I was sarcastically making fun of his post, mind you. Obviously Oden has more value than Butler. Us giving Oden in the trade would be the equivalent (in terms of trade suckiness) of getting Butler with just LaFrentz. (And Young to boot)

Why would the blazers even want butler? you already have Roy, Outlaw and Webster as your scorers/wings... Butler and roy wont have enough playing time since blake will be running the point

Unless you move Roy to the point and play Roy/Rudy/Caron/LMA/Oden. Now that is something to like!

Oh bloody Jesus! I'd vowed not to open/reply to another proposed trade thread for the rest of this year . . . but for fuck's sake, what the fuck? Fuck!

Are you TRYING to come up with the most absurd trade possible ON PURPOSE? If so, congrats - mission accomplished.

The Butler part is bad enough but Nick Young too? They were esctatic to get him in the draft so do you think they've already given up on him and want to throw him in as filler on an already lop-sided trade proposal???

I just killed a lot of good brain cells opening up this thread!!!

    LMAO!

I forgot I posted this last night. My brother-in-law and I were celebrating the Blazers blow out victory with some cocktails. We thought, at the time, that this trade was plausible. "Dude, RealGM accepted the trade! Post it! Genius!"

    Sober hindsight. Not so much.

But all your responses are just CLASSIC! Awesome.
