While brain storming on trades for the Wolves I came across one that actually wasn't bad. After seeing another post that suggested a trade between Portland and Washington involving Caron Butler for LaFrentz's expiring contract...well, after I laughed out loud for what seemed like 5 solid minutes....I thought of this trade...which I think is more realistic: This trade involves something similar to proposed deals with Charlotte in getting Wallace. Minnesota trades: Rashad McCants Corey Brewer* Jason Collins Boston's 1st Round pick *In Brewers case since he's injured until the end of the season...a stipulation can be added to add an addition future draft pick based on Brewer's production level and health or team record upon his return next year. Washington trades: Caron Butler http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4873753 ---------------------------------------------------- Minnesota gets: A Star caliber player to put next to Big Al and hopefully draw top free agent within the next couple years. Washington gets: A young player to step in and provide scoring punch, almost seven mil in cap room (10 if they don't excersise the option on McCants) and a defensive stopper on the wing in Brewer. Not to mention two potential draft picks instead of one. I know Caron is outstanding talent, but maybe the attractive package of youth/potential, cap space and draft picks would turn thier head.....interested in some feedback....later peeps!
Interesting, but I only have one question. Why would Washington go for that? They are smart enough to know not to go after McCants, and after that, Brewer is the only big thing coming in for them. No-go if I'm the Wizards.
Agreed, I was thinking from a view point of rebuilding. They do need interior help, but McHale Loves Love to much to trade him away...not to mention that Love is a rebounding machine (and great on the offensive glass)...lol. Would they be interested in Rhino? That may be the only other big the would want unless they would be interested in Gomes, yeah he just signed a long term deal, but it's not a bad one.
Well, how about this one: A three team deal involving the Bobcats and Wizards? Minnesota trades: To Charlotte: Rashad McCants Jason Collins Boston's 1st Round 09 pick To Washington: Miami's 2nd Round pick 09 ------------------------------------------- Charlotte trades: To Washington: Raymond Felton Adam Morrison ------------------------------------------ Washington Trades: To Minnesota: Caron Butler http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4875772 ____________________________________________________________ How it helps: Minnesota: Wolves get a star caliber player to take pressure of Big Al and maybe draw another good player via free agency Charlotte: Gets a player they covet in McCants as well as cap room and a 1st Round pick. Washington gets: A young scoring option with a good contract in Felton as well as a player in Morrison who's contract ends at seasons end but may prove to be a keeper as well as an additional pick in the draft. Appreciate the feedback...thanks for writing!
