Sergio is the odd man out at PG for us.. lets discuss trade value.

Would the Knicks take Sergio, Cash and a 2nd round pick for David Lee?

I don't agree to that. But you probably knew everyone wouldn't agree, right? :devilwink: I don't think there is an odd man out yet. Pretty soon, it will be Blake. Unless Sergio is included in a Raef trade.

Why the fuck would they take that crap for one of if not their best player? They already have a PG they are grooming, and have already dumped enough salary.

This is one of the worst POR forum trades yet!

Hank the Dwarf must be drunk

    Negative.

Lee is probably the most solid player on the Knicks squad.

And I can't imagine the Knicks would take Sergio, cash and a second rounder for David Lee. Looks good from this end, though.

it would look good if it wasn't just a 3/4 season rental. there's likely several teams that will want to give lee at least 8 million per to start, which would mean we'd have to blow our cap space overpaying a backup to keep him.

    Disagree on both.

    1. I don't think he's necessarily odd man out. COULD be Blake.

    2. That's one of the most ridiculous trades I've ever seen.

    Edit:

    3. If anyone is the odd man out it's Outlaw, with Frye potentially be next in line. I was talking in respect to PGs.

How do we all agree Sergio is the odd man out? I still think Sergio has the potential to be a very good pg in this league.

why all the David Lee love? He'd be great as a backup 4, but he wants, and deserves, to start, and his rookie contract is up at the end of the season. He's not going to stay in Portland as a backup, so there's no reason to give up Sergio to rent him for half a season.

I don't agree. I think either Blake or Sergio needs to be moved. Whoever can get more value as neither has proven they must be kept. I suspect that means Sergio, as he's a more tantalizing prospect for most teams. However, Blake would be excellent for one of the upper tier teams who needs some PG help. Bottom line, KP should look at the available trades for both, and grab whichever is the better of the two.

KP cried the last time he traded Blake. I think he has a serious Man Crush on lil' Stevie Blake.. and really, who could blame him?

Why do we need to move anybody? We are 16-10; and have great chemistry.

Wouldn't you cry too if you knew you had just traded for stone-hands Magloire? :devilwink:

Hands of stone, feet of lead. But hey, he was a former All-Star and he did better in Portland than Blake did in Milwaukie. That trade was bad for both teams. Everyone involved shed some tears.

Hank The Dwarf has an anti-man crush on Sergio, it seems. Every one of his posts involves getting rid of 1/2 of the most exciting backup guard tandem in the league. I think we all just need to move along here, *edited: No personal attacks*

Re:edited - since when is calling someone a troll for trolling the message boards an attack? I'm not letting out any huge secret here.

This is not the time for a trade.

Blake looks great next to Brandon.

Sergio, who can't score and is at least trying to defend, runs great with the second unit, but is not a starter.

Bayless looks great for the future, but has no clue how to get the team into their offense, and doesn't appear to know how to get the ball into the post either.

I wouldn't do anything at this point. If Bayless figures out how to run a team, then you can start having conversations. Until then don't change what is working.

My concern with trading Sergio is the effect that may have on Rudy and re signing him, which is a MUST!!!! Rudy is an ESPN highlight reel player, keeping him may be a challenge when his contract is up. Sergio gone might not help.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Fernandez isn't going to base his career on where Rodriguez is. He's going to base it largely on money and personal opportunity. To that end, Roy is probably the greater detriment to keeping Fernandez, since Roy plays the same position and is locked in for the foreseeable future.
