Jason Kidd. I believe if Jason Kidd and Chancy switched teams Detriot wouldnt lose one game. Not one game. You heard me say it, Why do I think this? Because Jason Kidd can run a offense better then Chancy can thats why. Don't get me wrong Chancy is a really good player but imo he's no Jason Kidd(Who imo is still the best PG in the league).
Right now Chauncy is playing like a MVP. But i'd have to go with Mr. Triple Double Jason Kidd. And I agree with "Dagameplayer" if Jason Kidd were on the Pistons...they would be unstoppable.
i can go either way on this one. jason kidd has been better throughout his career but right now billups is better. larry brown really helped him become a great pg. kidd is still a great pg but billups is a better shooter and overall player right now. kidd is getting old and closing in on a great career.
I am going with Chauncey Billups. The guy can flatout shoot it. If we are talking career than I would give it to Jason Kidd but this year I am definitely going with Billups.
Lmao Billups better OVERALL PLAYERJason Kidd is Mr Triple Double, the guy is more versatile than Billups, one of the best playmakers. Then, and STILL its Kidd>Billups
I'll go with J Kidd....the guy can do it all on offense and does play solid defense. I know his knees aren't the best, but just look at the numbers he is posting this year: 14.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.9 steals...pretty damn solid if you ask me. I know Billups has decent numbers this year, but his all around game doesn't come close to J Kidd's at this point.
I think you can sum this debate up by looking at one statistic. Jason Kidd has 70 triple doubles, good for fourth all-time in an elite group of players. He has more triple doubles in his career than 22 NBA FRANCHISES! The Nets in their history have 70 total triple doubles combined! I think this is an amazing stat and I cant say enough about this guy and the way he goes out there and plays hard every night. If he wanted to, he could score 17-18 ppg, but he, instead, does whats best for the team and gets others involved. He averages 7 rpg as a guard to go along with his 8 assists. His FG% is at a career high to go along with his career high clip from downtown. He has playoff experience, he improves his teamattes like no other, and he is a great defender...My favorite player of all time, Jason Kidd, an unbelievable player, its a shame hes not on the all-star team, because he deserves to be on it every year..
In terms of career production, Jason Kidd wins it easily, At this point in their careers, although Kidd gets more triple doubles, Billups can score in more ways, and is getting more assists, along with his great team. Kidd gets it over career, Billups right now
I would have to go with Jason Kidd, and not just because he is my favorite player. Most of you guys have said pretty much all the reasons why, hoopskidd5 pretty much gave the biggest reason why Jason is the better choice. Jason Kidd is an all around player. He can score if he needs too (although shooting isn't his best quality). He is an amazing passer, he is 9th on the NBA's all-time assists list (7,283) and 4th on the NBA -time lists for assists per game (9.3). He is a great defender he has been on the NBA first all-time defensive team 4 times (2003-04, 2001-02, 2000-01 and 1998-99) and on the second team 3 times (2004-05, 2002-03 and 1999-00). This guy has been amazing from the time he entered the league with the Mavs. He got co-rookie of the year (with Grant Hill) and almost 8 assists as a rookie. He is a leader out on the court. He is amazing because of the way he can control the offensive and deffensive side of the ball.If you want to see what amazing things this guy has accomplished, just look at his profile on NBA.comhttp://www.nba.com/playerfile/jason_kidd/index.html?nav=pageIt is a shame that his knee injury had to limit his eplosiveness and mobility.
I just hope we can acquire a solid big man and make a run at the ring for Jason while he is still in his prime..
JKidd. Hes a better passing PG, and more of an all round player. Its a pretty good comparision though, both players were/are MVP Cadidates...
Speaking of MVP candidates, he most certainly should have had it over Duncan a couple years back, which is why I was happy to see Nash get it over Shaq last year, because they had similar years were they improved their team tremendously and made others around them better...Billups is having the same type of year this year, and I would rather see someone like him or Nash win it over a player like Kobe, because they are more team-oreinted and, above all, have been more succesful in leading their team to victories..
Kidd's shooting has always been his achilles heal. He is great everywhere else but shooting is very important in basketball and he misses a lot of shots and never shot a high percentage. Billups though is the best 3 point shooter in the league imo. That a long with his defense and improved passing is why I would choose Billups this year.

Kidd has more PPG than Billups career wise too..

Jason Kidd wins this one. He is such a good all around Point Guard. Billups has played great lately but Kidd wins this one by a bit. Kidd's passing is amazing though. But Billups is a better shooter.

I have to go with Chauncey, at least this year. He is a great shooter. He is clutch. He CAN run our offense fine. He plays great defense. Why wouldn't you want a Chauncey, thats not Chancy or Chuancy, thats Chauncey Billups
