is that enough to win a championship?? If not it's time to go back to the drawing board.

I think that is a major reason Mark Cuban hasn't extended Kidds contract just yet. He's waiting to see if the team will improve this year. So far it appears that they are going in the right direction. The playoffs will be the major test. If the Mavs go way deep in the playoffs and maybe make the finals i can see cuban extending kidds contract for 2 or 3 years. If not he will probably blow things up and start over again... Like the nets did.

So even Cuban doesn't think a month and a half is a true test for Kidd...

well like the nets he's had his run, although he's kept the core longer than the nets. We shall see if his run is long in the tooth. I think he can get a year or two out of the core group. But if he's one and done in the playoffs like last year he will definately blow it up.

I don't think they can get past the first round with the team they have yeah they have some great players but other teams are much better then them. What do to have to trade if they are going to blow it up or do anything? Kidd can walk at the end of the season so I don't think they can get him so basically they only have Dirk they could trade, I don't see many good guys on thr team that aren't in the starting line up

Well he could trade Dirk and get a few draft picks back and a package of players from a team. He could do a salary dump and do rebuilding like the nets. But he's kinda compulsive so he could also really destroy his team as well. He really put all his eggs in a basket with the Kidd trade. But the players are assets and other GM's will value some of them.

Either way Kidd will be playing in this league a few more years either with the mavs or with another team, maybe at a reduced salary. It all depends on how the mavs and kidd do this year.

He has Dirk, Howard, and Terry, and maybe a sign and trade with Kidd. Who knows.

I guess there will always be someone to sour grape. To those who aren't, good for you. Fact is, Jason Kidd will be remembered in history as the saviour of Jersey. Yes, the "wife beater", prima dona or whatever else some people could think of. Whatever foundation the Nets have right now is because of the guy who used to wear number 5 for the Nets. A lot of people here are eager to see Harris torch Kidd on the floor. A lot of people here also say that Kidd is old and washed up?! So what does it say if Harris does score 40 on Kidd? That he's better than Kidd?! Keep dreaming. Or maybe it says that a 25 year old can beat out a 35 year old man who has been in the league for 14 seasons? Not exactly vindicating. As good as Devin Harris is, he is not Jason Kidd. There's Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, John Stockton and then there's Jason Kidd.

Yea, he'll allow Jet and Dirk to play the pick and roll game while he'll just slide up and down the wing on the weakside. That pairing has been unstoppable on the 2 man game. The biggest thing has been Jet's ability to bring it EVERY night. Dirk questioned Jet's consistency during training camp and that has been the focus of Jet this season. Jet only brought it in big games in the past, now he's focused on doing it every night.
