I didn't hear them say anything during the Kings game, but I read in the paper yesterday that they drew fluid off of Brandon's knee before the Kings game. I did notice that they showed the trainer icing his knee in the forth quarter. Don't like the sound of this. Sorry if this was already discussed, but I didn't see anything on the forum about it.
He's had knee injuries before and is missing some cartilage. The body's reaction to stress on a joint where there is no padding is to produce fluid. I lost my lateral meniscus due to a football injury. After the injury, if I had a particularly hard game/workout, my knee would fill with fluid. Who knows the cause of it, but draining knees certainly isn't a new thing or a big deal in NBA circles.
I think it was a smart move with the temperatures we are having. Would hate to see it freezing and locking in place when he was driving home. On second thought - I hope they replaced it with anti-freeze.
Well i dont know whats goin on with Roy but dont base your opinion on his knees getting iced...This year the Lakers trainers wraps ice on EVERYBODYS knees once it is certain the wont return to the game. Its pretty funny to see
