http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2008/12/18/20081218spt-suns.html "It's another game that we gave away," O'Neal said. "It's about the eighth game this year that we've given away." Sick of this guy. Dude can't acknowledge that Roy wasn't going to be denied on that night, even when the Suns were shooting a ridiculously high percentage. At least he didn't call Greg "Odom" again.
Suns are shooting 50% as a team and 39% from 3pt for the season. They consistently shoot a ridiculously high percentage
Shaq is such a hypocrite. Remember when he use to bash on Sabas for flopping? What was that last night!!?? A single touch from Greg and he goes flying into the stands? Was it a smart play? Yes because the refs are so freaking stupid they fell for it. But still the hypocrisy was ridiculous. I thought the NBA was going to fine players for that crap.
Sounds to me like Shaq was calling out his own team. Nothing he said at all was disrespectful to Portland or it's players.
Did you guys hear Reggie Miller comments on that Greg foul on Shaq? In a nutshell Reggie was saying it was a phantom call and that there is no way that Oden with three fingers shoved a 300 pound 7 footer into the first row!!
Actually, this is how players should approach losses. He's putting it on his own team, not whining about other things. I'm not sure how this is in any way disrespectful.
Shaq is getting further and further from reality. His ability to produce has gone down but his ego has continued growing unabatedly. I watched an interview on NBATV the other night and he talked about how the team would be OK if he got the rock to "do his thing". He then claimed he shot 60 or 70 percent from the field. Career. You can look it up. Google it. I guess he rounded up from 58.1% to "60 or 70". He DID manage to admit that Amare was the first option, but he didn't talk about Nash (and his MVPs) at all, nor about the fact that the Suns have been most successful without a lumbering presence like Shaq. Ed O.
It's understandable, though...he spent a large part of his career as a uniquely dominant player in NBA history. He still has the ability at times to just force his way to the hoop...it's hard for players like that to realize that they aren't the same player, especially when they can summon it up every so often.
I loved when Shaq flopped out of bounds to get the call against Oden. After all these years of despising floppers...he is one.
Well haven't Blazer players been saying we gave away a few games? Shaq has said some things, especially about Joel, that have made me dislike him, but nothing here seems that bad. Liked how J. Rich called Roy a "superstar".
I would like to see what would happen if Shaq dropped 60 lbs this offseason and came back thin. Sure he is older, but the weight loss could help offset it.
Yup, If I was a Phoenix fan I'd be worried if Shaq did nothing but heap effusive praise on another team when they hurt themselves by turning the ball over constantly and letting an opposing player go off for 50+. The Blazers played great, but if you are Phoenix the number of offensive boards they gave up in the clutch moments of the game would be pretty disheartening for a team coming off of 3 days rest.
Shaq wants/needs acknowledgment. Opposing players were double teaming him before he even caught the ball when he came into the league. He learned to be a good passer to foil the strategy. Other teams knew right off the bat Shaq would learn to dominate them. Interestingly, I think the same thing is happening to Greg. The Suns know that Greg is going to dominate them in the future, so they're getting their licks in now.
