They really should get rid of their over-paid players like Marbury. QRich is having a bad year. LB is just screwing up. This franchise is a mess. They have to turn it around next off-season. Well, good luck to them.

Jalen Rose more than likely is stuck here for a while. All these huge contracts keep them from free agents. The draft helped though a ton.If only there were non-guarenteed contracts in the NBA.
I think NY just needs to fully commit to rebuilding instead of trying to patch up the team with overpaid, aging players, If I were NY, I would build around the young guys like Frye (I like Ariza too, I think he should be given more playing time, from what I have seen of him, he should be a good energy guy of the bench for them). I would dump their big contract players while they still have some value to them and rebuild through the draft and around their young players. As long as they have Marbury, they arent going anywhere. Not sure who would take him, and they probably wouldnt get much back, but I would definatly explore trade options for him and the other high-priced players they have..

What about this trade.....NY TradesG Stephon MarburyBoston TradesF-C Raef LaFrentzG Dan DickauG Tony Allen1st round pickKnicks would get a bad contract with Raef LaFrentz, but not nearly as bad as Marbury's. Boston gets a solid point guard. I think it's good for Boston aside from the absurd contract that Marbury has and anything is good for NY at this point.

The Knicks franchise needs ALOT of work. I think they should just rebuild with Young guys. But keep a couple of fairly good palyers with ok contracts so the new guys can learn from them and get better. The Knicks could have a good team in a couple years though.
Their so screwed cap wise, it would take forever for em to get under. And that's needed to rebuild. Also, their trying to trade their expiring contracts for guys with longer contracts. Already have with Antonio Davis for Jalen Rose. Penny seems next.

marbury is not gonna make the celtics a playoff team. marbury's contract is just too big. also he wants to stay here and he wants to prove the critics that he can win. he hasn't done it yet but he has the best opportunity to with larry brown. as long as he listens to him. also the knicks have enough guards on the team. they don't need two more.
I'll agree with you on the fact that Brown and Marbury working well together could mold Marbury into a great player and could make the Knicks a winning team, he did in Detroit, he took a bunch of players Hamilton, Wallace, Sheed, and billups, guys who hadn't made a name for themself and created such good chemistry. I look at New York and it's a little bit similar with guys like Curry, Q Rich, Marbury, Jamaal Crawford, but the only difference is Detroit has Joe Dumars as GM and NY has Isaiah Thomas...Isaiah has no clue what he's doing, he said anyone the coach wants to bring in he'll make a move for it....what kind of strategy is that? Isaiah is just killing the Knicks, the only way I see it working is if he steps down or something crazy like that.
Your right. Marbury is using up alot of the salary space. I think that they should of gave him for Jalen Rose but the salary would stay the same.
