Well...most of my post was directed to Black Mamba's views over the past few weeks. I know this is a message board and all so everything gets dissected but Im just not buying this one. Its fucking December! We have played crap teams over and over and over again...I would not give a shit too after a while. The Lakers just need to play some quality opponents to wake them up. It will be good for them win or lose. When was the last time a Phil Lakers team had played so many crappy teams and had a hugely home favored schedule to start the year? Im guessing never.

The players arent children. They are more responsible for being ready for the games rather than Phil. Phil shouldnt have to "rev them up" to play well.

you can test your players, but still give yourself the best chance to win a game.....This lakers team isn't the Bulls of the 90's or the Lakers at the beginning of this millenium. Forcing Odom to play down the stretch isn't and hasn't made him better in any shape, form, or fashion. The guy will always be inconsistent, which is why Phil needs to recognize when it's not his night, and sit his ass down the stretch for someone who can actually help.

Odom is on the Lakers last time I checked. He wasnt "forcing" Odom to do anything. Odom has been in down the stretch plenty of times before...So i think I heard you guys say you wanted Bynum instead. Did you see how he was playing?!? Minus a couple of good moves in the post he wasnt doing shit except fouling people. What about Vlad Rad? You want him in there doing his passes to nobody??? It was plenty of players "not their night" last night. Im fine with putting Odom in there, the Heat were making Bynum play 20 feet away from the basket anyways....but thats for a whole other thread :devilwink:

Lakers are 21 - 4 yet you guys doubt them....did you expect them to be 82 and 0? or 81 and 1?....I think the Lakers will put up a good fight against the Celtics...

Try being a Bulls fan whose been putting up with BS play for over half of the season > _>.

blah blah blah...The record doesnt matter at all. It HOW they are playing. If you have legitimate championship aspirations then record is the last thing on your mind. That will take care of itself if you are truly a contender.

I apologize if it seems like I'm bashing Phil all the time. I like him as a coach, and just putting it out there, I wouldn't want anybody else coaching this team than Phil. Basically, I've just been frustrated by our play because I don't remember the last time this team actually looked like they gave a damn on the court. Maybe I'm being too harsh on Phil, because he isn't the one on the court, or maybe I'm not. But bottom line is, I wouldn't mind him tinkering his "philosophy" a little bit to get this team fired up and more focused on the task at hand. I also wouldn't mind him making more logical substitutions, but hey, he has never been logical with substitutions, so it would be insane to think he'd change now...

Yesterday was yesterday. We played a below .500 team (at least I'm pretty sure Miami is below .500, lol), and like always, we played down to our competition. I don't like it, but there's nothing I can do about it. We all know the Lakers are better than how they played yesterday.

But today is a new day, the Magic are one of the top teams in the league and they will definitely be a harder opponent than the Heat (even though we lost). So hopefully playing a top team in the league will get these guys focused again and motivated again.

Overall play DOES matter. Blah Blah Blah.

So you are going to nitpick the Lakers after every bad game? that's a shame...The Lakers got 21 - 4 for a reason; I don't think that reason is due to them sucking for a month...give up the "the Lakers must have a perfect season" attitude and then start acting like a real fan instead of adding pressure to the Lakers for their few bad games.

There is plenty of season to be played yet some of you are throwing in the towel...excuse Kobe, Pau, Bynum, Vlad, Farmar, Sasha, Fisher, Luke etc and Phil for making mistakes that cost them a few games. Be a real fan a cheer them on a bit.

I give the Bulls props even though they have played an up and down season and you can't do that for your Lakers? You don't deserve Kobe and the talent you have on that team if you are going to act like brats. Blah Blah Blah.

    ------------------------------

Lost One, I like your attitude.

I see your opinion in that post that you left me...you have a nitpicking attitude and you don't like the fact that the Lakers are having a small slump...I am sure your opinion was different a couple of losses ago. I am sure you were supportive and gave positive criticism...a couple of losses ago.

Phil is a great coach and the Lakers are a great team....be mad about the loss and move on.

I wasn't incorrect..you think the Lakers haven't played "good enough" teams.....and aren't "awake".....we said that about the Boston Celtics last season "oh they haven't played enough quality teams so they have a good record"....they won a championship and are on the verge of a repeat.

The Heat are better than their record...you act as if you are insulted by the fact the Lakers lost to the Heat.

I think you're making something out of nothing, I'd be more worried if Kobe couldn't get over it. Kobe shouldn't be crying after missing a shot like that, he obviously cares about winning his will shouldn't be questioned. If he's playing like a fool then his game is off or maybe his brain too, not his intent or desire.

yeah....better than Odom, lol...this is the case on certain nights, and on those nights Phil needs to go with Bynum instead....

I thought he did okay for the time he was in their in the 4th quarter.....his ability to take and make the 3 spreads the floor.......
