^ well they did take the celtics to game 7 last year, in a tough fought game 7 win (as did atlanta even though they got blown out in 7), and their only 2 years removed from making it soo adding Vince or Jamison for a player who doesnt do as much and doesn't need defenses to adjust, can only help their chances (baring injury) lol this was to jurasics post i got lazy
We'll just agree to disagree, Vince in my opinion hasn't been soft during his time with the nets. He also hasn't had enough talent around him to get past the second round and I don't think that makes him soft. Watching Kobe's natural progression to shooting more jumpers doesn't make me conclude that Kobe has turned soft all of a sudden.
Not true. The were at least a second round team when Kidd and RJ were there. They just ended up going against the Heat (I can't remember who they faced the other years). To say that Vince hasn't had 2nd round talent makes no sense when Kidd lead them to two Finals appearances with Kmart, and VC is better than Kenyon.
So your telling me that TOP TO BOTTOM the RJ, VC, Kidd teams were more talented than the finals team that pushed Duncan's Spurs to 6 games in the finals?? I smell BS
Vince's NJ teams never had a bench, or even a decent bench player, until this year every nets player off the bench was terrible. Also reread my post I said Vince never had enough talent around him on the nets to get PAST the second round. he's been to the second round with RJ and Kidd
No I smell, BS on your part. Nowhere did I say that the Kidd-RJ-VC teams where better than Duncan's team, in fact I didn't even mention Duncan or the Spurs in my post. All I said is that they were good enough to get out of the second round, or should have been. You're trying to make it sound like Vince never had anybody around him.
If that goes in I think they would of went to the finals
Off topic but searching for that video i found the video from this picture i think its funny how one of his biggest pictures he doesnt come close to making the shot (first time i've ever seen it)
and the battle rages on... oh and danxcr, I was being incredibly sarcastic. this season, there have been no vc haters showing themselves until now. So I am just filling the void that Montross and people like that would fill: bashing vince and saying hes a dog.
Who is this troll "The Dream"? Kid must be a Houston fan...if anyone is Soft it would be Mr.Tracy McGrady.
It must be fun making stuff up. Please provide a link to where VC said he didn't have to play hard because of his talent.
this "troll" is a vet, and trust me I've called (and continue to call) Tmac soft....you're not hurting my feelings with that one, lol
that's cool, but I'd have to agree with Jurassic in saying that I do believe he's had fairly decent talent around him in NJ.
lol http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1962014 The last quote by Mo Pete is something I believe just by watching Vince play. He along with Tmac and Lamar Odom just appear to get by on their "talent" at times.......
No, he didn't admit to quitting. MaxaMillion711 already posted the quote from John Thompson, THE PERSON WHO CONDUCTED THE INTERVIEW, that Carters words were misrepresented in the media. Carter himself said his comments were wrongly reported. No, what Carter was saying in that interview was that he had a lot of natural athletic ability/talent, and the game came easier to him compared to others who had lesser talent and had to put more into working on their games and bodies than maybe he did. But when the injuries came and hurt his game, he said he had to work harder to over come them. He didn't admit to "quitting" like you said and like it was widely misreported in the media.
