Um, Seattle ranges from 0' to 500', and latitude means nothing other than how the powers that be decided to place the globe. From outer space, our notions of north/south are irrelevant.

Seems like a nitpicky thing to call out a poster on, regardless.

Depends on where you're at in Portland and Seattle. According to the USGS, elevations for Portland range from Sea Level to 1073'. Elevations for Seattle range from Sea Level to 520'.

But, this is all material. The OP was referring to a driving direction, not a change in elevation. Seattle is both north of Portland and SEA is at higher elevation than PDX. Either way you look at it, he will be driving DOWN to PDX from SEA.

    As I told PapaG...

No game. Snowed in. Nothing else to do.

Well, the last one isn't totally true. I just spent the last hour and a half playing in the snow with my kids. It was fun. And, it's so quiet out there. No traffic. Nobody else out.

Where do you live. We've have an inch layer of ice here in Tualatin. My kids laughed when we skidded things across the "lawn" until they crashed, then they got sick of the freezing rain and the fun was over. :sigh:

Technically, we have a Beaverton address, but I can throw a rock in three directions (N,E,W) and hit Portland. We're north of 26 in the Bethany/Rock Creek area. We had a ton of powdery snow yesterday. It pretty much came down all day with about 6 - 8" of accumulation. Then we got a little freezing rain overnight that put a solid coating of ice about 3/8" thick on top of the snow, Then we got another 1" of fresh snow this afternoon. We've lived in the same house for almost 20 years and this is the deepest snow we've ever had in our yard.

We spent about an hour playing in the backyard and then took a walk to the park. No cars anywhere. The only other person we saw was a guy on a bike right as we got back home. It was eerily quite out and the white snow made it seem very bright even though it was 2 hours after sunset.

Yeah, we have guests coming for Christmas that will be arriving Tuesday morning. I can't tell you how much I'm NOT looking forward to fighting rush hour traffic to drive from Beaverton to PDX. I hope the roads are better by then, at least.

Wouldn't it make sense for both teams to stay in Denver and play each other Tuesday night as well? Then move one of the games meant for the Pepsi Center later in the year to the RG.

You guys should have seen the looks on the faces of a bunch of people in a Burger King in Kaiser, OR this afternoon. We took a pit stop and surprised some people with BRoy and Mr. Oden ordering onion rings and Oreo shakes! Pretty funny!
