    Re: TNT's Greatest Dunk Ever

I dont know if you guys were watching, but TNT had A Greatest Dunk Ever between the years of '84-'05. The dunkers were anywhere from Kenny Smith, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Brent Barry, Spudd Webb, and more. Right now, the finalisits are Michael Jordan and Vince Carter. The dunk that Michael did was the one where he went up to do a leaner slam. I thought it was too simple to be great but, Kenny did point out that it did set a new era for dunking with the leaner. Vince Carters dunk was the one where his cuz (T-Mac) bounced the ball in front of the hoop and VC put it between his legs and dunked it. That was nice..So who do you think should win? I think it should be VC cuz that dunk was really nice and now a bunch of other people are doing between the legs so I think that dunk set it off.

Vince to me is the best finesse dunker, Michael was the best "in your face" dunker

Anyways, I like MJ's dunk more. The hangtime was just amazing.

hmm..I thought Vince Carter should of won that for the Raptors. He had so many great dunks that year. Greatest Dunk contest of all time. So many great dunks.

I didn't think either of those two dunks were good enough to be the top dunk ever...People voted for MJ because it's MJ.

The dunk that should have been picked was Carters 360 Windmill instead of the Leaner. That is no where close to the greatest dunk ever.

Am I the only one who thinks the 88' Dunk Contest was overrated? I mean Michael dunked from the foul line twice, which was robbery.

    Re: TNT's Greatest Dunk Ever

Jordan's was a nice dunk but not the greatest ever. I didn't even think about that one when they asked which one was the greatest. The first one that came to mind was Dominique Wilkins in 1988 tossing it off the backbourd, leaping high, and jamming with one hand. Also Larry Nance's "Rock The Cradle" jam was pretty sweet (1984).Kurt Cobain 39th Birthday-February 20th

mj's leaner was DEFINETLY not the best dunk, they voted that over his free throw line, vc's through the legs was the best behind vc's 360 windmill.i have a tape of the through the legs, the crowd went the craziest i have ever seen any crowd, and Isaih Thomas and i think it was Lisa Leslie jumped over the scorers table to high five Vince.

And whose was better? JRich's off backboard wasn't finished as cleanly, and wasn't as picture perfect. It was harder of a dunk, but not as pretty. After that, there are no between the legs dunks that can compete. VC's was PERFECTLY executed. he caught it at right time, his posture during it was perfect, and it was just amazing. But, best dunk ever has to be one of those 3: VC's reverse 36 windmill, MJ's free throw line, or one of Nique's windmills.
