Go Malik! I remember hearing about the Ducks recruiting him for the first time. So stoked! He iddn't live up to the hype but he helped us get another elite 8 run. That class was awesome.

Hope he does well. His game is somewhat well suited for an NBA role player of the bench... maybe a 9th or 10th man eventually. He doesn't really do anything very well but he does a lot of things pretty good.

Great for Malik. He was named the D league player of the week with averages somewhere are 25, 6 and 5 while leading the team to 3 victories. The thing is the spurs might keep him with the toros because he was technically there unassociated with the spurs. Now that they signed him, they can say, "malik... it's time for the d league." I figure they signed him so no one else would. He was playing very well.

Um...wasn't he drafted by the Suns and had his draft rights traded to the Spurs? I don't know if anyone else COULD sign him.

He was waived by the spurs and at that point any team could sign him. The spurs probably encouraged him to sign with their D league team so they could monitor him closely and know what kind of coaching he'd get, but they held no rights to him.

Good for Malik. I wondered if he was going to be one of those players who would be better suited for the NBA style than college style. He had such high expectations coming to Oregon, so I'm interested to see how he'll do in the league.
