He's the tallest player in the 21 years of the competition to win the 3-point shootout.The irony is Terry should have advanced to the final round.Terry had 13 points in the first round. Nowitzki was sitting on 12 points with one ball – worth two points – left in the rack.The tallest player to win the NBA Three-Point Shootout."I really don't know if I got the last one up in time or not," Nowitzki said.He didn't. Replays showed the ball was in his hand when the clock expired. But he was awarded the two points to get the 14 he needed to advance.Nowitzki had advanced to the finals in previous years, but in his words, "kinda choked when my arm got heavy." This time, he hit eight of his first 10 shots and finished with 18 points to beat Arenas by two and Allen by three.And what did Terry do in the final round?"He was rooting for me all the way," said Nowitzki, who received a $35,000 check to go with his trophy. "When the other guys were shooting in the final round, he was heckling them from behind."He was my fan out there, and I'm glad I won.
