It's good because it's not just me. I know what you mean though. Back to 37, but I'll be checking 788 OFTEN.

    What is your problem?

And do you think that I am stupid?

How many games in SD do you think I watch a week? I watch some or all of over 20 games a week. I can say, without one iota of hesitation, that the Comcast Sportschannel is singular in its terrible quality.

It is not a mere limitation of SD versus HD, because EVERY OTHER BROADCAST I see--whether it's NBA TV or YES or any of the other myriad of local broadcasts--ALL look better.

And, no, I do not watch NBA TV broadcasts in HDTV. I watch channel 416 on Comcast in Seattle, and it's SD.

Before you go off like you know so much more than other people, why don't you figure out the lay of the land a little bit?

Check out this link. Three pictures I took at basically the same time with games in HD, SD and CSNW SD. I am sure you can figure out which they are. The top is HD. Middle is SD on ESPN, bottom is CSNW in SD. The CSNW SD picture is quite obviously worse than the ESPN one. Yes I am sure it is more noticeable on bigger TVs... but damn... I can hardly tell who the players are on CSNW. I didn't have any problem last night on KGW.

Disclaimer: Just threw this up on an old blog post.

    Evidence that CSNW sucks

Wow. I knew it was bad, but seeing them next to each other like that really shows how bad it is. I don't understand why anyone would subscribe to comcast except for the Blazers. Directv SD is far and away a better picture.

I loved DirecTV. Only reason I switched to Verizon FiOS is because of the Blazers.

CSNW is far worse than any other Comcast channel. I see no real difference between DirecTV (which I had) and Comcast (which I have) except that I can watch Blazer Games... in Mike Rice Beer Goggle Vision. :banghead:

I have Comcast (so I could get the Blazers) and most of the other HD channels are great (when there is a HD program airing. Some non-HD programs are aired on the HD channels.) Many of the SD channels are acceptable as well.

As EdO posted above, CSNNW SD is out on an island in offering consistently crappy SD picture quality. The HD feeds (when they actually start on time) are pretty good HD quality. Unfortunately many of the games are not broadcast in HD.

The people involved in this should be ashamed of themselves. Their lack of accountability, inability to solve the problem and unresponsiveness to complaints is disgusting.

That they have spent considerable amounts of money running ads about the sat TV contract negotiations only adds fuel to a level of ego corporate disconnect that boggles in its endless stupidity and waste. What moron is running this show?

too bad you gave up, i was hoping you could all enlighten us with your superior knowledge/intellect on the topic of high definition television. i guess i will have to now go through my entire life always wondering what could have been as i sit in front of my TV completely oblivious to the intricate details that confound me every time that i begin to even start thinking about them.

    maybe later? ill be waiting.

My boy EWT actually works in the industry and knows what he speaks of. I just sounds like he is frustrated with the way the complaints are coming in. The blame lies in the lap of CSN. The signal that leaves out truck is top quality. When I'm on the TNT shows the HD signal is the same as our HD signal for the home CSN shows. It's once it leaves us and is sent out to CSN. They are dropping the ball!

And as for the audio problem last night, we had sound leaving the truck all night. Once again CSN stepped up to ruin our show!

I hope you are feeding all of this information back to your bosses. Perhaps it could be used as leverage to either force Comcast to improve or void their contract for lack of living up to it's conditions.

But why? Why are they dropping the ball?

And why is it taking so long to fix?

Does nobody at CSN give a shit how incompetent and foolish it makes them look?

I hope the money they are saving by allowing this broken system to go unfixed is worth the PR hit they are taking.

I, for one, have a very low opinion of them. I can't be alone.

I would bet $1,000 that the amount of advertising and PR money they would have to spend to repair their now tarnished reputation would completely fucking dwarf whatever petty cash money it would take to fix their technical problems.

yes I hate all these blurry feeds we get as NBA fans. I have dishnetwork and it seems like only 40% of the games are in HD. Last year I remember being upset since Mark Cuban has alot of money tied up in HD technology and I would always be watching the Dallas feeds in SD. Those comparison pics realy show how bad some of the feeds are now a days.

I currently have both Directv and Comcast. I agree comcast HD channels are fine, it's most of the SD stuff that's far inferior to the SD on Directv. Since there's still a lot of content in SD then this is a big problem in my opinion, especially blazer games. I also find it irritating that they don't broadcast away games in HD on CSNNW. I assume they don't have the equipment (Or does this fall on the Blazers)??? Wonder if they plan to obtain the necessary gear sometime soon? Any of the other CSN channels get the away HD treatment? All-in-all Comcast just comes off as the inferior product, again in my opinion.
