Didn't Detroit sign Prince to a long term contract after the Iverson trade? He's clearly a main part of their rebuilding plan. Wallace is a much better fit anyway.
Hey my best friend's cousin's next door neighbor's hairdresser's dog walker heard it from a friend who heard it from a waitress at Denny's who overheard KP talking on his cell phone ... though there is slight possibility that the conversation could have centered on a certain waifish, semi-androgynous, 80s pop star, and not in fact a certain NBA basketball player who happens to share a certain surname.
Check this out, I got a part time job at a Starbucks last week and this guy comes in today. I tell him that I'm kind of a big deal down at the RG and how we are trading for Prince! Funny huh?
Blake Roy Prince Aldridge Oden He'd change the whole dynamic of our starting five. Prince is what we hope Batum can turn into but having a prime Prince would be amazing to have with Roy. But I can't get my hopes up. After all, it was from some quack at Starbucks.
I know we all got a good laugh at the coffee shop thing, but that;s why I never claimed any validity to the "rumor". And it's not like everyone in PDX from bag boys to executives don't go to coffee shops, especially in snowy days and in upscale neighborhoods. But, as I said, this most likely is crap. I was hoping one of the few posters whom I trust had also heard a similar rumor, but I guess thats not the case. It would not surprise me at all if KP offered a deal like this, but Dumars is one smart cookie, and I doubt he would take this deal.
I was under the impression that Prince is someone that the Pistons want to build around. However, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat if it were true.
Don't be silly - Starbucks is from Seattle. They don't even have an NBA team. Must have been someone from Peet's.
No they obviously did not. They picked him up for salary cap relief so they can make a run at free agents down the line when his huge contract expires. Most GM's around the league know AI has lost a step. That is generally aknowledged in basketball circles. Joe Dumars would not make a trade knowing AI has lost a step and expect to return to the promised land. Especially when he knows he only has 1 year on his contract. This is why Detroit, will move other pieces. If they are truly going to make a run at great players in the upcoming free agency crop, they will need to shed more cap room.
maybe they trade Pince because they think they have a chance at LBJ with all their cap space? Prince is notsomeone you build team around, he is a glue guy, which would be perfect for us.
I would do this trade with either Martell or Travis. I would rather send Travis though. He is a God damn moron.
Prince would be perfect for us. But I think we would have to give up Rudy or LaMarcus. And if that's the price, I would say no.
