He sucks. He is nothing. He is not a #1 pick. He is a 2nd rounder. We fucked up yet again. We should have taken Durant. Can you imagine our team with another scorer as good as Roy, if not better?

JJ Barea with 8 rebounds and Greg with 5? Wow. Greg sucks. I am off the Oden bandwagon.

Can't second guess that pick at all IMHO. If he doesn't tear his knee, I think he would be dominant by now.

Greg is looking pretty mediocre, but I have a feeling it's poor conditioning and carrying around too much bulk. He needs to slim down.

Why are people expecting their center to contest penetrating guards' layups AND get the board on the other side of the rim? Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw needed to step up. For the most part, Oden played pretty solid interior defense.

This thread should be saved and brought back up front in about a year or two.

People don't understand the concept that Blake was responsible for boxing out JJ Barrea and just basically decided not to.

It's been said many times, but I guess I'll try again: it's too early to give up on Oden. We need patience. This will probably be the worst he plays in his career. Wait until his explosive athleticism comes back and add some experience. He'll be at least pretty good, if not great.

Oden will box his guy out and let other players like Batum grab rebounds. I watch him do it all the time.

Blake and Roy stood around a lot looking at the ball. Weak play on D from them tonight.

Yeah they both did. Travis did as well. You can point to a lot of things Greg is learning from and doing wrong right now: Bringing his arms down, giving a little too much body, missing some rotations. These are all correctable in my mind - a result of not playing in a year and learning to retrust his knee, learn the nba, etc. But one thing he is not doing wrong is boxing out. He was battling Dampier and Brandon Bass all game - not necessarily grabbing the rebound himself but he was tapping it up and out or going for a block and affecting the shot.. only to have the rest of the team (minus Batum and Aldridge who I'm pretty positive at this point is instructed to run out in a lot of situations instead of going for a rebound) decide to be like.. LET US GIVE THE MAVERICKS AN EXTRA POSSESSION.

Greg doesn't have to do anything for that to happen.

Btw, I think Greg's post game looks better. He just missed the shots. I'd call them good looks though.

He'll get it together. I'm actually more worried about his defense right now, which I thought I'd never say.

Think about this though for real. Greg isn't really doing that much for us right now. However good he becomes for whatever team... RIGHT NOW, he is not helping our team at all. Yet, we are still winning and playing pretty damn well.

Imagine Durant on our team. What is the biggest thing that our team is suffering from? Another solid scoring option behind Roy. No matter what team Durant is on, it is safe to say he will score at least 18-20 a game. If we had that with our current roster?? To give up what Greg is giving us for what Durant could be giving us??? I bet you we are behind the Lakers 1 game not 6.
