about a lot of you. After a loss, you guys act like we'll never make the playoffs (or at least this year) and will never be a good team. After a win, you guys act like we're a lock for the playoffs and will be a dynasty. Would you idiots make up your mind? You make posting here and coming here real difficult.
i agree. a lot of bi-polar fans. i think it has to do with it being the only team in portland. idk though
It's pretty frustrating. Although I generally vent my frustrations about Nate after losses as I try not to do it after wins to not 'bring the mood down'.
It's not so much about Nate, as it is about how fans will act like things are so horrible right now that the team lost against the Mavs.
Yeah that is how most Blazer fans are. Bi-Polor like a mu fukker Good Beer + Die Hard Blazer Fan + Home Loss + Public Forum = Angry posts
I'm personally sick of fans that don't recognize troubling patterns in play. Win or lose. The Playoffs are an important goal for this team and it takes consistent, smart play to get there in the West. I've been fairly pessimistic, even in wins, since the Detroit game. Since then we've been playing weak defense and rely on the jumpshot far too often. It's not quality basketball.
its freaking crazy, it was even worse when everyone was fighting. but still, we just beat denver! we arent falling off the cliff!!
there is no middle ground with 99% of this fanbase - its either overboard joy and overboard sadness..... i struggle with the vicious swings from extremes on the board too
I flat out all season have said we won't make the playoffs, or at least struggle to get there. I have also said we are a bad team all year even after wins. People bash me for it, but then alljoin me later in the year saying the same thing.
We're a "bad team"? I refuse to believe that. I would say that we're not consistently playing winning ball, but I wouldn't go that far.
Careful, Craig, if you don't sniff the nuts of the favorite player of every poster here, you're a hater. Doesn't matter if you're asking questions, making observations, asking questions, pointing blame, actively hating, etc.
Yeah, like Craig said that's another problem. For me personally when I try to bring up the issues that we have with coaching, or how Steve or Travis is playing - it isn't because I hate them and want them gone just to be gone.. I just want the Blazers to win. I think we can all agree that we want the Blazers to succeed and there is nothing wrong with having a healthy discussion about players flaws (I'm talking about rational discussion and not some of the OH MY GOD PLAYER SUCKS JESUS CHRIS BUST BUST WORTHLESS RETARDED IDIOT TRADE HIM WAIVE HIM HANG HIM BY THE BALLS! reaction stuff).
Nate isn't going to magically become a better coach. The guy sucks, how many bad coaches are we going to get in a row? Paul's money can't buy everything it seems. That is what I have noticed anyway. The reason we get angry is that we don't lose like other teams lose, we lose like four year olds on Jeopardy. Outsmarted at every step.
Lets start a new thread on wether or not we will make the playoffs. I will go with No we won't. I base that on the west. We would make it in the east (again). But I just don't see that team that made it last year, not making it again. The Blazers and their fans need to foucs on battling to the end. But we are still relying on 3 rookies and the 4th needs some time too. we cam win 47-48 but that won't cut it. Without some major injuries from another team, it will be tough.
Eventually you will come to the conclusion that it's seldom coaching. You must be young. Most coaches in the NBA are all recyled. They suck somewhere and resurface somewhere else.
That is really confusing. Who is seldom and should I capitalize his name? I must be young? Or do you mean the team? I know coaches are often given chance after chance after chance. I guess they must interview well or something. I think you hit on a good nickname for Nate, Seldom. As in he seldom does something that would make one say he is a good coach.
To be honest I don't watch that many games, so I can't complain about Outlaw like a lot of people, although I do see and understand Oden struggling. It is kind of frustrating to me as well. I think the team is on the right track. KP is very good, from the SA school of basketball management. There are still some young pieces, and we're probably two years away from being a real contender for a title, although I think we can make the playoffs this year and win a series next year, both of which are good progress and achievements. Add to the fact that we may still be able to add a piece via FA or trade, and we're looking really good for the future.
We're not a great team, nor a bad team, this is an above average team that relies heavily on finesse players ... but that's why I originally said we'd probably win 47 games or so this season. This is after all a very young team with one go to scorer and a lot of jump shooting role players and/or some underdeveloped big men (LMA and Oden). The kind of fan meltdown we've seen was almost too easy to predict; scores of people predicting 56+ wins, challenging the Lakers for the Western Conference, etc., etc. Ridiculous.
I sometimes forget we are the youngest team in the league (minus Raef). Just goes to show you how important experience in the NBA is.
