But I guess the pain of seeing our team lose in that fashion makes only the doom-and-gloom threads come out.

"Oden sucks...let's get Durant". I'm not sure I saw where he didn't stay with his man all night. I'm pretty sure I saw him play an animated first half, with one foul, some nice P&R plays, active on D. He's still getting mugged without getting the foul (and though Bob Delaney was calling a "fair" game, it was a very "no-touchie" game), and getting 3 fouls in 2 minutes or so would probably take him out of his game.

Nate needs to have another "no switching on screens" practices. Blake'll turn over another bench (adding to the 9 TO's in the last 2 games), maybe someone will get into a fight and we can commence winning 13 in a row.

Our favorite PG punching bag was shredding Dallas's D, making layups, floaters, and 3's, staying with his man, taking what the D gave him, and got pulled for Blake pretty quickly.

I thought Sergio was playing pretty well and never saw him again, what happened?

Sergio had a nice game for sure. One of the bright spots tonight. It's too bad he didn't get more run down the stretch.

He went in and the Mavs immediately went on a run. He picked up two stupid fouls in transition and got rightly yanked.

I missed a bit in the second half, so this was that horrible that his good play in the first half didn't merit some slack?

He was good in the first half but like Craig said two fouls including one at the start of the 4th. Considering that Blake was actively hurting us by letting Barrea blow by him for rebounds giving Sergio a chance would have been nice.

I hate Nate's"I show them" attitude. Like posted earlier, Jose hurt us in the 4th and he did not readjust or make a move. I would give Bayless or Sergio a few minutes to see if he could slow him or take him on the offensive end.
Bottom line, we need a new coach...

We are winning games on talent not with smarts or adjustments. I don't want to blame all of our losses or give them credit for our lucky wins, but if you do not see a pattern here you are blind. Wins-TOR,SA,NY,HOU,DEN Losses-Clippers, Orlando, both Utah games.

    Bayless would have stopped Barea.

Nate's affinity with certain players like Blake & Outlaw bugs me...he gives them plenty of leeway to make mistakes but then yanks other players like Sergio for a few mistakes...I can see why Sergio is frustrated...

Thankfully he hasn't started pulling Rudy for those types of mistakes yet....

YET is the operative word here.

    Nate must go.

Sergio got 2 fouls because unlike Roy and Blake (who combined for 1 foul) he actually played defense.

Our 2 best defensive guards are both Spanish and I'm all for starting them and giving them the bulk of PT.

LaMarcus got 3 shots this game. Nice job of getting him the ball there Blake/Roy.

The Blake/Roy 2 man game bores me to tears, does not come with defense included, and leaves our better shooters gathering dust.

The only stupid thing Sergio did last night was the foul before the ball was inbounded. Other than that - he had a solid game.

I hate that fucking cliche so bad. Like the grass isn't ever greener somewhere else?

Or hindsight is 20-20. Sure as FUCK is, but maybe the guy who was right BEFORE we found out in hindsight should get a chance to make some decisions.

I like my coaches like I like my tires.

    New.

Retreads need not apply. In a profession where you make millions of dollars, tough shit if you get a bad break and don't succeed. Go work at Wendy's PJ. Give someone else a chance, hopefully someone who has a brilliant mind. There are people out there.

LN,Sergio was OK on an individual basis, but every time he goes in the game, the Blazers lose ground. Why? Defense. Anything he does on one end, he gives up on the other. It is almost comical. Seriously, I challenge all you Sergio lovers: Look at the score when Sergio goes in, and when he goes out. Watch the improvement in our defense when ANYONE replaces him. I was at the game last night, great seats. I saw him getting lost on D. For every turnover he gambles to create, he allows a layup or a pass to an open man.

Defense with Sergio on the floor= Blazers playing 4 on 5.

I am not blaming the loss on him at all, in face he was better than usual last night. I am only stating: The only way Sergio becomes an effective player is if he plays in a Mike D'Antoni (sp?) system.

While I'd tend to agree with you, none of our PGs did a damn thing last night defensively, so you can't pin it on Sergio.

I didn't pin the loss on Rodriguez:

Nobody played great D last night, although Roy was trying and was at least average. Outlaw was better than normal for him (at least against a guy slow enough for him to handle-Nowitzki).

All I am saying is, this is not a very good defensive team, and Sergio might be our worst defender.

Alright, my bad. Guess I focused on that first paragraph and the 4v5 thing too much heh. Good points. It sucks when you know some of the guys are doing everything they can defensively, and it's still not happening from a team standpoint due to weak links. It'll be interesting to see what they do with Sergio for exactly that reason.
