It's true though. Bynum only scored 9 points, no biggie. Forget about his presence, and his defensive impact, stats are the only thing that counts.

Garnett is just saying what everyone would expect him to say. They're not going to admit that Bynum makes a difference in the game.

However, he is horribly wrong. The Lakers interior defense is much improved and scrubs like Powe and Perkins weren't able to go off on us like they did when we didn't have Bynum.

Oh, so Perkins and Powe are scrubs, but Bynum is the greatest player of all time. Thanks for the info.

I have to agree, KG is flat wrong here. Bynum sure made a difference yesterday, didn't he?

Bynum is a cross between Shaq, Wilt and Hakeem, only a little bit better.

In my honest opinion, I think Bynum can be better than Wilt Chamberlain in his prime...

That's just me though. Realistically he probably won't live up to my expectations and he'll only be as good as Shaq was in his prime.

Ok Garnett, keep wishing injury upon Bynum because that is the only way you beat us again this year in the Finals.

So scrubs was probably a little harsh, but I guess my point is that there's no way that their bigs, non of which are better than a role player, will torch us with Bynum in the lineup. He's much stronger than Gasol and Odom and won't get bullied around in the post by Perkins, Powe or whoever else he's guarding.

Im sorry but i have to agree... I think they are... If it werent for KG, Allen and Pierce spacing out the floor, they wouldnt be able to shine.

KG commands so much attention in the paint therefore freeing up perkins, davis, powe in the lane for the easy bucket most of the time.

Please don't take this as baiting but, at this point in his career, how much of a difference do you think he makes? I don't watch many Lakers games but from what I see, he looks like he will be good but right now I just don't see it. What is it he does that any 7 footer, say Joel Pryzbilla (or any other big, backup C), doesn't?

I don't think KG was trying to be politically correct, he was just saying they don't gameplan for Bynum and I agree in thinking he should be way down the list of players you prepare for against the Lakers.

As a complimentary player THIS SEASON, I think I would rather have Powe than Bynum.

Again, please don't take it as baiting, but Powe seems to bring more toughness, rebounding, he get to the line, and a bigger defensive impact (not shot-blocking, but as an enforcer type, pushing people off the block).

scrubs might be a little too harsh, lol....they are nice role players, but Bynum does weaken the impact that they have on the game (even if he plays like shit himself)....

Bynum brings a defensive presence in the paint that we didn't have last year. He's not afraid of contact down low, he's our best rebounder, and is also a very good shot blocker.

Beyond his defensive presence, he also gives us a true low post scoring threat. I love Gasol and all, but he's more of a high post player and doesn't necessarily gives us a great low post threat. Bynum does. He allows us to get a lot of easy hoops because of his offensive rebounding ability, something we do somewhat lack with him out of our lineup.

As for taking Powe over Bynum...no way. Bynum is a better offensive player, better shot blocker, and probably a better rebounder. He also takes up more space in the lane and can alter more shots just because of his height. There's no way I take the 6'8" Powe over Bynum, just because he supposedly works harder in your eyes.

KB commands so much attention wherever he is on the floor therefore freeing up Bynum in the lane for the easy bucket most of the time.
