Okay not to be a downer, first of all, great job today by the Lakers.

But we NEED another point guard. Fisher has been playing surprising well these last couple of games, even with increased minutes. But the last three games without Farmar, he has been played 41 minutes at Orlando, 40 minutes at Memphis, and 39 minutes at New Orleans, which is more than Kobe. So even with his high level of play, we cannot wait 2 months or however long it takes for Farmar to get back (my gut feeling tells me he's out for the season) to get another point guard. Fish has been playing well now, but given his age, he's bound to wear down sooner or later, and we need him for the postseason.

So please Mitch, don't kill the man and get him a backup!

I like the hybrid lineup with no PG! Those lineups were balling!

    Kobe, Sasha, Ariza, Vlad, Bynum

    LO, Sasha, Kobe, Ariza, Pau

Fuck it...Triangle never really needed a PG, just somebody to bring the ball up the floor and initiate it

According to reports, we're looking at Pargo and Lue.

    bring starbury at all costs!!!!!!!

inspite of his on/off court shananagans he got some sick game and i think he would not be a distraction in LA.

I really hope Jax gives Sun Yue some chance at the dude's second NBA game. He said in an interview Sun is an option.

He is an option because he is on the team...he honestly should get nothing but garbage time minutes even with Farmar out

I can't imagine Sun being a viable option. He's too raw and he'd only get garbage minutes, as mentioned earlier. I'd rather see Sasha at the PG than Sun...or let Odom come in as a point forward...something, but not Sun.

Even though he may not be a viable option, playing him in this type of situation gives him a taste of serious NBA action, instead of garbage time he usually gets. If he succeeds or does decent, he will be given similar situation in the future, maybe even going as far as battling Farmar for minutes. But even if he fails, he can only learn from those mistakes rather than learning from mistakes in garbage time, when it doesn't even matter if you make them.

The point is, you have to play a player for them to develop. I know many of you are thinking playing Sun may do the Lakers more harm than good, but to be honest, I don't expect him to receive much, if he is going to receive any, playing time. I would say playing him 5-7 minutes a night won't affect the Lakers too much, and may actually work to the Lakers advantage as it means a fresher Kobe, Lamar, Sasha, Fisher, and all those that are taking the role of backup PG at this time. Even Ariza, actually. With those 5-7 minutes of Sun, comes rested play from the other players, making up for whatever mistakes Sun may commit.

Sorry but no...If he get 5-7 minutes or more its gonna be in the D league. Triangle doesnt have to have a true PG...which he really isnt anyways, at the nba level at least

Sun can receive 5-7 minutes of garbage time, I don't mind. Other than that forget it. He can barely keep up with scrub PGs, or other third stringers, so starters or backups will kill him. He's not NBA material yet. He's too weak and doesn't really move his feet defensively. He's shooting is unreliable, and everytime he dribbles/passes the ball I get nervous. Sun has the tools to be an interesting player in the league one day, but he certainly is not ready to play any meaningful minutes at all. He is a project and has A LONG way to go.

Yeah, he looked real nervous today during garbage time and passed right away. Every time he got the ball it looked like if the defender had put pressure on him he'd get it stolen. Maybe after putting on some muscle and getting more comfortable with NBA style basketball he'll be ready but as you said, he has a long way to go indeed.

    No more Sun

No more 40 minutes of Fisher and having him pull his groin

Get one NOW before Grandpa Fisher destroys his legs
