I've heard speculation that the Pats will look into trading Brady to see what they can get for him.

Don't know what to think yet because it seems too early to draw conclusions.

If these reports are true, I don't know if there would be a team interested in trading for Brady. The Pats have proven they can win with Cassel so honestly, Brady isn't a necessity to them anymore.

44, you think a team like Detroit would make a move for a recovering Brady?

I'm not sure if they would...with the way the team is thier obviously rebuilding...and it would just seem to make more sense to go with a Rookie QB to build around (ie; Atlanta) then to trade away what would amount to choice picks on a recovering QB. They don't really have enough in Detroit as it is to make Brady a factor anyway...Calvin J isn't enough.

The speculation came before this report. The thinking is that teams would be willing to put ridiculous packages together to get Brady, so it might be worth taking a downgrade at QB to improve in other areas. Plus Cassel is younger, obviously.

As for the report, I don't buy it at all. There was even a si.com report that said it was bullshit today. And even if you ignore that, I wouldn't put it passed the Pats to leak stuff like this to the media so they can franchise Cassel without getting harassed by the player's association.

The report seems too vague to know for sure if he is behind schedule.

Even if you told me that it is 100% that Brady is out for 2009, I would still put together a trade offer....Brady is too good, even after missing 2 seasons, to not inquire on....
