So just as expected the Celtics took out their frustrations from the last two losses in a row by destroying the Kings 108-63, including a 21 point performance by KG on 10-11 shooting. From looking at the box score it's obvious the game was never close. They outscored the Kings by a large margin every quarter. I know it's the Kings but still, god damn. http://www.nba.com/games/20081228/BOSSAC/boxscore.html So lets just hope they got it out of their system and will bring it down a notch on Tuesday, otherwise we may be in trouble. I think if Greg Oden puts in another good game and we keep up the defensive intensity like last night we have a decent shot. Especially with the way Roy has been playing lately. Either way should be a fun game.
Well even in Boston we played them alright. We had one looooong cold streak which totally screwed us. I figure at home with the fans behind them that probably wont happen. Sure, I guess it could, but for the most part I think this game should be much more competitive. If we play our best at home we should be able to hang with just about anyone in the league, Boston included. I hope so anyway.
Without Kevin Martin, the Kings are awful. They shot the ball horribly (0.279 FG% - their starters made a total of 8 FG) and got outrebounded by 22. I expect the Blazers will fare substantially better in both those areas and it will be a much closer game come Tuesday evening. BNM
Which officials call the game is huge. I hope they are consistent. I say let them play. No fouls. street ball 2008. Anyone who flopps goes to the penalty box for one quarter. Lets get physical. I know that is a dream. Boston will play physical, yet we will be the ones in foul trouble. Mark it down.
No way, no how does anything like that happen in the Rose Garden. We already ended the streaks against San Antonio and Phoenix - no reason to think we can't knock off a Boston team that just lost to Golden State and will be at the end of their first (and probably only) longish road trip of the season.
I think what above posters have pointed out...that although they just lost to Golden State, the last game they played against the Kings makes it look like thier back on track again...I think with that humiliating loss to the Warriors...Boston will really be playing with a chip on thier shoulder....be prepared for tough games from here on out. Just cause they got beat by the Warriors...they did follow up by destroying thier next opponent by 45 points!!! That's plenty reason to not jump to conclusions and think that Portland can knock off Boston

This game completely comes down to the refs and their whistles! If Oden is killed with 3 fouls in the first quarter and Roy doesn't get any breaks, our team is in big trouble. If they let us play the way the did the Lakers Vs. Celtics I like our chances a whole lot more. The Celtics living on the free throw line is not going to turn out well for our team. This is what worries me!
