Had NFL Network on as I was falling asleep and it said that. :O Edit- http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-shanahanfired&prov=ap&type=lgns
Just heard it on the radio...I'm pretty surprised. They fell apart down the stretch this year, but it seemed like he was in one of those situations that as long as he wanted to be the coach, he could be
I thought they'd just get rid of the defensive guys on that team or take away Mike's GM responsibilities. The Broncos went through a ton of injuries at RB but they still had good depth. They had 7 RBs on IR.
I forgot they had a mix of John Elway + Brett Favre at QB. Mixed with Tom Brady's poise. You're right, they're set.
Unless one gets a super sweet deal for Cutler in some trade, don't mess with that. One still doesn't find young QBs like that just anywhere.
Some arrogance? He threw his teammates under the bus in college and he does it now. He has never been a winner, and he will never be a winner. He is the weakest piece of that Denver offense. They've got one hell of a receiver in Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, one hell of a TE, and one hell of an OL. He just simply isn't a winner.
What did he say exactly that pissed you off? Rivers is perfect? I don't have a problem with Rivers talking trash either.
What did he say? I can't collect it all over his time. He has never once taken responsibility for his teams failures. Then he says the Chargers didn't stop them? Really, Jay? The QB is the one who is supposed to man up and take responsibility. He isn't supposed to throw his defense under the bus, make excuses, and claim that the better team didn't win. Cutler had his chance to get his team in the playoffs, and he didn't. Yet he blames his defense. He had a chance to beat Buffalo twice last week, or at least tie...he threw a pick in the red zone and than couldn't complete a 4th and goal. When Rivers fucks up, he takes responsibility. When the loss isn't even on him, he takes responsibility. How many times this year did Rivers throw our defense under the bus when we started 4-8? How many times has Manning (either Peyton or Eli) thrown his team under the bus? Big Ben? They don't. Cutler has Ryan Leaf's mindset and charisma, a B-level Brett Favre arm, and the decision making of a retard. He won't amount to anything in this league. Denver will never win with him there.
He's 25 years old, I'd give him a couple more years at least before we establish what his peak is. If he doesn't like a rival I understand that part. He's not a loser because he's not extremely efficient or anything, he's playing around the level he should be at; if he were a loser that would mean he's wasting his talent like Tony Romo (maybe that guy turns it around one day too, who knows). What Cutler did was have a very nice September then he leveled out after that. He had 8 nice games and he won those, he underperformed in those others and he lost. The defense never really cost him a game so you're right about that part. He might be a prick but did he say anything that really merits giving him away in some lame trade? I don't know about that part man. Finding another QB isn't easy either.
Considering the injuries they had, and the weak running game it was a horrible move in my opinion. He'll be back to coaching soon.
