It may just have been he thought Roy wasn't interested in being friends off the court, not he got mad he wasn't invited so he didn't have anytihng to do with Roy off the court. A lot of times people make more out of something than there is.

I can understand with a father like he has LA having trust issues. Of course all I know is what I've read so I can't really say and for anyone to draw any conclusions, especially extreme ones as some have said, says more about them than it does about LA to me.
