yeah, I think that's what it meant from the "trailblazer" part. He was one of the best players coming out of Oak Hill Academy (High School). And that's saying alot considering the players that have come from that program. The year in Europe will do him a world of good since it will get him more structured to a "team" type of play...and with his court vision and passing ability he will come into next years draft as a surefire lottery, possibly a top 10 pick.

Just to give some people an idea of the seriousness of the school he played for and thier tradition of churning out top NBA talent, I've listed the players that have done well in the NBA (and a couple in College right now) keep in mind all these players are coming out of this one school....insane!!!

    Josh Smith
    Jerry Stackhouse
    Carmelo Anthony
    Stephen Jackson
    Rajon Rando
    DeSagana Diop
    Jeff McInnis
    Ron Mercer
    Marcus Williams
    Steve Blake

and in college: Ty Lawson & Eric Devendorf

That's a pretty impressive Prep School to say the least.

I just want to make sure we're clear on this. When a whistle is blown (for a foul), the clock stops.

He was kinda forced to sign over in Europe. He signed his letter of intent with Arizona...but did meet the acedemic requirements...so it only made sense that if he was ineligible to play in college for his year between the pros, he might as well play overseas and make money while progressing as a team player. If he shows serious improvement when draft time comes around...I can see more players doing this. More likely the one who need the money to help support family and what not...this is a very decent option to playing in college...who pretty much pimps the players for TV deals brings in butt-loads of cash for the schools...lol...just playing!!! But it does seem unfair when a player does get caught excepting money....they attempt to make them out like thier the scum and a big disgrace to the game of basketball. I can see if the player was getting paid off just to come and play at a school...but....I mean what was so bad when OJ Mayo received game tickets from Carmelo? seriously? All that was, was a friend hooking a friend up to see a game...

Rod Strickland (news to me), Corey Alexander, and William Avery also went there, and Kevin Garnett made multiple visits before deciding against it.

By the standards of most schools, just getting someone to the NBA is a major accomplishment!

oh, don't get me wrong...that is a great accomplishment in it's own right. it's just after listing the names I went on to say...contributers in the NBA (don't know if you read that post...:devilwink:). And since Alexander and Avery didn't do anthing once they got in...I didn't list them.....if I said in my post "all these players went on to the NBA"...well that would be different, but I didn't....so I hope that clears things up a lil bit:ghoti:

    Sounds good:

He should be contractually required to go back to the flat top, though.

If Portland were interested, I think he would be much more obtainable than Rubio, because the value of picks drops precipitously outside of the top 2, especially if a team like Washington or the Clippers is picking #3.
