You really want to take me on sloth? You are so full of shit, your posts come out brown. This is your typical ploy of taking small facts out of context and spinning them into a wild ass tale. For starters, no one was ever going to go back to bbf since the site has been completed shredded into shit by VerticalScope. Additionally, there are several posters here that were banned at bbf when they didn't want a ton spam coming there way. You have a couple of facts, but as normal, have drawn the wrong conclusion.
Where is Shape? This site went from ugly to good to worse. So much drama and people with egos now. I want this site to improve but wow.
What exactly is wrong, besides that some of them are no longer banned at bff? Did the Nets forum that is now at Nets Daily not pretty much the same one that was at bbf and then here? How am I wrong on that accord? Did they not explore the options for new places to post? I'm nearly certain they did. Was Netsdaily not the most logical place to continue posting? If it wasn't, why are you all posing there?
When you have the group of thick headed admins running a site things don't usually work out too well.
The Nets forum grew into the biggest on that site by 2006. Nobody was exploring new options to post, and to assert anything else of the sort would be dishonest.
The core of the Nets forum started at nj.com, migrated to bbb and then to here. Of course, at each stop, more people were added. Nope. Although you did approach people about attempting to start a Nets forum at your site. You are drawing conclusions from AIM conversations where people were fucking with you. No, it wasn't the most logical. However, it did come about and it will thrive.
Yeah Shape should play a bigger role (but I think he's too busy now). Back on JBB, none of this shit happened. You didn't have posters (respected posters especially) rebelling all the time. You didn't have disagreements as big as these. Why? Because Shape knew how to run a forum. Everybody respected him, and trusted him because we all knew that whatever he did, was the best for the community. I don't remember anything like this, anything near this type of "drama" happening on JBB. Shape knows how to run a community, plain and simple.
I had an exchange on AIM where he was exploring options for new places where they could post, including creating a Nets forum on my site, creating an entirely new site. Creating a forum on Netsdaily.com was a great idea. It makes a lot of sense. But to say options were not explored, at least by some, would be dishonest.
True. But my guess is that he, along with the other admins (barely see them around anymore) didn't have time to keep up with the board anymore, as seen by their recent activity. Either way, no matter what happened from the merge, I think Shape had the best intentions. He just wanted to have a bigger community and less responsibility to run it. But who knows. Either way, I'm pretty sure most of the JBB guys can say they trusted Shape to make all the right decisions (besides merge), which cannot be said here.
Must not have been serious discussions. Nobody in their right mind would have ditched bbf in its prime for your forum. Except for complete and utter twits like NBASCOUT and coolman, and you could have had them anyway.
