the MVP title is going to be his.. he has scored the second most points in any NBA game in the history of the whole entire world. he leads the NBA w/ an outstanding 35 PPG, a feat not achieved since the best that ever played, Michael Jordan. he leads the league in 4th quarter points, proving that he, is the most clutch, and comes for his team when it counts.for a man a few years back, at the bottom of the league w/ all his personal problems. ONLY the die-hard kobe fans stuck w/ him. and now here he is at the top. leading. at the top. at the top.i'm just telling you this, no one's getting the title as MVP in this league, unless that person's named Kobe Bryant.
Kobe bryant isn't the mvp at the moment because my lakers are struggling to stay .500. If the team can get to around the 5th seed which is very unlikey then the guy is the MVP. Out all of the MVP canditates so to speak, he has the worst supporting cast. Nash has a superstar besides him, Lebron has a solid team also. So if he gets his team to the 5th seed, i dont' see how you deny him the right. And i know countless of laker fans who have jumped of the lakers because of last season. Well that's fine, the next time la wins a championship there will no room for them. There's some people who have statesd they've become laker fans because of 81.
Right now I think it is Nash. The Suns whould be even better once Amare comes back and without Nash they would be a trash team. Nash is leading them to the 3rd or 2nd seed in the West. He is making Boris Diaw look like a great offensive player. He is utilizing the athleticism of Marion and the shooting skilld of Bell and House and Jones. He doesnt care who his teammate is he will find him for an open look and make them so much better then they actually are. And to cap it off he is averaging a career high 20 ppg which is alot higher then last year. Last year he had 2 all stars around him and 2 great proven 15-17 ppg shooters. So I think with the supporting cast he has he should be named MVP again even if he was MVP last year as well.If you put him on the Lakers I believe that the Lakers would be doing better then they are with Kobe. He would make Lamar a 20 ppg guy. He would help compliment Lamar's long range jumper and Lamar is a good dribbler as well which would help. If you think about it Kobe is just trying to score alot of points so he can win games. Nash would help gain the confidence of the players around him and help them out offensively. Guys like Smush would get alot of open looks. Smush could be a 15 ppg guy right now. Even Chris Mihm would get open looks around the basket.Nash just makes the players around him so much better and I think he could win ball games regardless of the team he has around him. He is great at creating chemistry and setting his guys up. That is why I think the MVP should be named Steve not Kobe once again.

There's no barrier.
you cant be serious. kobe is not gonna be mvp for leading his team to a .500 record that's just ridiculous. yea he's had a great season and all but it's not always about stats. it's gonna be nash or billips who are both key parts to their teams and they are also top teams in the conference. an player shouldn't get mvp just becase he puts up great numbers because his team sucks and he has to do it all himself.
If the Lakers even get 8th seed, he will still get MVP.If he doesn't get it, and they still mkae the playoffs, it will be the biggest robbery in the history of sports.
Again it would not be Billups because he is not near as valuable to his team as Nash. Let's just try taking away both players from their teams. With Billups they still have quite a few scoring options and they are still a great defensive team. They would probably get the 4th seed or higher. WIthout Nash a team that is now destined to be a 2nd or 3rd seed would be a top 5 worst team in the league. They wouldn't have scoring options because Barbosa could not share the bal the way Nash does. They would be the same as they are now on defense which is not good. I think that's what the Most Valuable Player comes down to. I do not care if Billups makes some big shots at the end of games. It's not like he is the only thing holding his team together like Nash. That's why I think Nash deserves MVP. Because he doesnt have nearly the roster Billups has and he still doing very well.
Scoring is not all that is important. All the other stats of Kobes are low just because he thinks it is a one on five game. Nash deserves it more because his team is doing better and Nash uses his teammates.

Diaw is doing great mostly because of his passing, rebounding and defensive ability. Not because Nash helps him score 12 points. Without Nash we would still make the playoffs, we have a lot of talent because of Colangelo and without D'Antoni's run and gun style Nash would go back to his 8 assist, non-MVP ways. I hate how overrated he is and how people can't see how good the team really is. It isn't the Nash show. 1 player can't make a team great as evidenced by Kobe and the Lakers. Nash's supporting cast this year would absolutly destroy last years. Q was trash, JJ and Amare were good and Jackson was nice off the bench, but now we got a lot more depth and talent especially when Amare gets back. Anyone who says Nash has a worse supporting cast this year really needs to turn on the TV and go to ESPN or TNT when the Suns are playing.Brand is my MVP this year. :worthy: Nash is my 1st team point guard.
No amount of points buys you the MVP. Just because Kobe scored 81 points doesn't mean he should get the MVP. His team hasn't even made the playoffs for sure. How are you going to give the MVP to a player who's team may not even make the playoffs?I say Nash should get it. He has better stats than last year. He is more of a shooter this year. His team is in second place in the NBA. He ranks first in the NBA at free throw percentage, assists, and assists per game. He lost Joe Johnson and Richardson. His has lead his team farther than anyone thought they would go this season because of the loss of Amare. That reminds me, he is doing all of this without his star player. He gets my vote.Billups is another player who in my opinion has a good chance at getting it.
Anyone who says Richarson was a loss to the team obviously didn't watch the playoffs last year. If we had this roster but added Richardson he would probably be our 11th or 12th man.

I just said they didn't have him or Joe Johnson anymore. I did say that Amare was a loss for the team however. But I know what you mean, Richardson has done nothing for the Knicks either. It just goes to show you how a player like Nash can make people better. He got Richardson some open looks for threes which made him look better than what he was.

Q rich was alot better when Nash got him open shots, and we know that joe johnson's team can't do good without a leader, like nash. Not only nash getting assists makes you better, but him running the floor and setting up great plays makes everyone better and gets everyones confidence up. Not to mention he's canadian
I don't think he deserves it, but I wouldn't mind if Nash won it though. As long as Colangelo wins Exec. of the Year and D'Antoni at least gets some recognition for Coach of the Year.It just means more awards for the Suns. Last year Nash did deserve it though, because we had no depth at all and we really were trash when he was injured. I didn't like people saying Shaq deserved it more. This year is different though. We can keep a winning record with Nash out, we just probably wouldn't beat the top teams in the league.

The man is amazing, and for once in his career, hes startign to play DEFENSE. Take Dirk away from that team and they are nothing, absolutely nothing. Just a bunch of role players who couldnt buy a ticket to watch the playoffs, let alone get in. (Well, KVH could, because hes one of the most overpaid players in the NBA)
He may be gone sometime but he's not going to ge tup and leave in the middle of the season...I think Dallas has too much talent to make Nowitzki the MVP, but he is a top player in the league. Still an average rebounder(for his height) and defender though.
Dirk isn't a average rebounder. He's a great defensive rebounder, just struggles with offensive rebounds. His rebounding numbers are down by like 1 or 2 due to other rebounders from Howard, Griffin, Dampier, Diop. And blender, just ask Melo061 why Dirk isn't a MVP.
