That drops them down to the 8th spot and moves us up a notch. Houston could be on that list of teams that might miss the playoffs in lieu of us.

Houston's biggest problem is injuries. If they can get past their injuries, I don't see them missing the playoffs. It's gonna be us or Utah.

Unsurprisingly though, the three teams (Houston, Portland, Utah) struggling right now all have injury problems. Whoever shakes off the bug last (or not at all) will miss the playoffs.

    I can agree with that.

I do see Houston as better than us when healthy. Utah is a tougher call, but they seem to have our number when playing us. So hopefully it doesn't come down to a tie breaker.

    Good point.

So even for the other teams, becuase it is so tight . . . which ever team can't stay healthy (got to be 1 out of 9) will probably miss the playoffs.

A couple weeks ago, people said it would be us or Dallas. Now it's Utah. It seems that people just pick whoever is the worst team besides us and say that's the battle. Houston could miss. Dallas could miss. Phoenix could miss. Heck, Denver could miss. It's a long season.

my thoughts on Utah is that boozer seems to be out for a long long time. I don't think they will be able to squeak in without his offense.

There have been a few threads that have asked the question "Who will miss the playoffs?" I can't find the one I'm referring to. It was a few weeks ago and almost everyone responded with "Dallas." It seemed like a too obvious answer based merely on the fact that Dallas was in 9th place at the time.

FWIW, in another thread I had started, BrianFromWA said that it would end up being 4 to make 3 (playoff spots). I'm going with that.

It'd be nice to make a move up the standings now. We're only three games and two losses behind Denver. Plus the Thuggets have a pretty tough home schedule coming up.
Time to make up ground now Blazers!
