WatsonThe deal, which is expected to be announced later Thursday, sends Seattle forward Reggie Evans and Portland swingman Ruben Patterson to the Nuggets.Portland, in its ongoing quest for salary-cap relief, was eager to part with Patterson and acquire Denver guard Voshon Lenard (whose contract expires at season's end) and Seattle center Vitaly Potapenko (who has only one season left on his contract). The Sonics also receive a future second-round pick from Denver in the deal, which has been sent to the league office for official approval.</div>
Good trade for Denver. Patterson and Evans give them some defense and heart, not to mention more depth.
Finally Kiki does something. I am liking this trade alot.Watson didnt really fit in with our 3 guard offense. We get 2 very tough defenders in Evans and Patterson. Patterson is a solid on the ball defender who has improved on offense as the season progressed.Evans is shooting 50% and grabbing 7 rebounds in only 19 minutes per game.Good move.
Good move for Denver, Evans gives them insurance when they decide to get rid of either Kenyon Martin or Nene in the offseason. These two players give them some toughness and help them defensively while adding depth to the club, good move by Denver..
Thank god seattle!! <Censored> ronald murry is NOT a good back up PG Sonics will use watson well hopefully
Good trade for Nuggets, adding two guys to fuel a playoff run. The question is if Nugs decide to sign Evans this summer, or is he just a stopgap with the Nene injury. Ruben should get the nod at starting sg I think(Watson gone, Miller back to pg). He's better then Demarr Johnson and Greg Buckner. Also, good trade for Sonics, Watson was a good fit for them back then, and they needed a pg behind Ridnour. Byron Russell isn't mentioned, but he's heading to Sonics as well. I see it as nothing more then a throw in. For Blazers, looks like a cap move. Voshon expires, Potapenko got only 1 year left. Neither will push for a starting spot or even a backup spot.
Man Denver kills in this deal. Reggie is so good, I thought Seattle would have hung on to him, but Denver is going to cherish him. Patterson gives instant offense and a big boost of energy. But Now Sac is in the deal too. They are trading Brian Skinner and getting Potapenko and Sergio Monia.
Apparently this trade just became a four team trade with Sacramento getting in the mix:http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2341845
