I would be interested to hear the justification here. I'm almost always willing to give the cops the benefit of the doubt, but that looks more like an execution than a reasonable reaction. Man.

well IF that turns out to be the case I can only imagine the despair the cop is going thru. You want to think how can anybody want to shoot in that situation and accept that it was an honest mistake of grabbing a gun instead of a stun gun, but at the same time how can somebody mistake the difference. Cops usually have a standard belt with everything always in the same place so he should know he was grabbing a gun just by where he grabbed on his belt..

How close does their stun guns look like a real gun?

You know due to weight difference issues between the 2 weapons, I have a real problem with the "I was reaching for my stun gun" line.

Yeah -- I guess the link is bad. I googled Kendra police shooting, I thought her name was Kendra James but I was sure that her first name was Kendra. The link was supposedly to a lawsuit filed in 2003 by her family for $10 million. I was surprised that it was that long ago.

That's ridiculous. Police officers go through so much training. There is no way he thought he was pulling out his tazer. There is another video I can link you all too which is a little bit clearer.

I don't know anything about the Bart Police Department, but Portland cops carry their tazer in a different leg holster down on their thigh, whereas their sidearm is usually on their hip. Again, I'm not sure where that officer carried his tazer, but I fail to see how the mistake could be made. They usually are on a completely different part of their body. It sounds like bullshit to me.
