<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>J.R. Smith Done With Hornets?23rd February, 2006 - 4:14 amThe Times-Picayune - The Hornets are looking to acquire a backup center before today?s deadline according to The Times-Picayune, with their bait potentially being anything amongst Bostjan Nachbar, Arvydas Macijauskas and guard J.R. Smith. When Scott was asked about Smith's long-term future with the team, he said, "I don't know.'"Like I said, he hasn't improved from last year to this year," Scott said. "I've basically told him on three or four different occasions what he needs to do. That's all I can do."On Tuesday, Smith said if the Hornets feel he can't help them, it was best for him to go elsewhere. But Smith said Wednesday if the decision were up to him, he wouldn't want to be traded."I like this team, I've been here two years, I've got a feel for it," Smith said. "I know the chemistry. I've done everything that (Scott's) told me to do, but it hasn't happened on the floor. But I've got to stay focused and be ready." Well they will probably deal him this off season, it's sad that such a talent will probably be wasted.
I was hoping Raps would pull a deal for him. Sadly this trading deadline was like a fart in the wind.
JR could still be dealt if they were talking before the deadline. I doubt it though so keep watching espn & such for info.
I think JR smith is an awesome playerit seems the hornets have gave up on him.i hope he goes to a team that can use him well
Im guessing he was not traded, so basiclly his season is over. Hornets never give him time, and they have no confidence in the young kid
Well he was on the block, but they traded Nachbar instead. As it says in the article what 3 guys from the Hornets were on the block.
J.R. Smith showed up with 5 minutes left in practise today...you can obviously tell he's putting in the effort.
He is an awesome talent. Just his effort and dedication can be questioned. He doesnt work at all on defense. He needs his attitude checked. Still I would welcome him with open arms to the Raps. We are weak at SG.
He canstart whenever he gets it together.. Scott is probaly dying to start himbut he needs to get it together
