The stats don't lie, he has not shown great improvement so far at all.
I think it's jsut that he has never been the focal point of his team. That team really spreads the ball around, making it harder for him to improve. Plus they are palying him out of position. Still no excuse though, he really has not elevated his game
Stats aren't everything. Kirk doesn't need to post Jkidd or Nash like numbers to have a good effect on the game. He's quick, smart, and can lead a team to the playoffs.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Feb 25 2006, 10:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He needs to work on his midrange game but your right he has good pg vision and he is quick.</div>All he does is shoot mid-range to long jumpers, and shoot flaoters int he lane. He needs to create his own shots more consistently, and everything else will fall into place
I watch him play all the time and what is not there is consistency. He does go out and get 25 and 8, but then the next game its almost like he isn't there at all, that he blends in. He will be a top 10 PG because I cant name many bettter than him, but never the focal point of a team, just like he was at Kansas.
Kirk is a good young player. He doesn't shine when you bring up his stats, but despite that he is a good player. He has nice passing skills, and he can shoot. He will get better as his career goes on.
Kirk is still young, I wouldnt say he has Big Dog Syndrome of never improving his game yet, but if he doesnt break out within the next couple years with at least a higher fg% and better assist numbers I'd be surprised, look at Chauncey Billups and how long he took to break out though.
Stats aren't everything. He's a leader, and he knows how to win. He's unselfish and a threat from the outside. He can handle pressure and penetrate the lane, yet the most intriguing part of his game (to some) is his defense. He's already a good player, and he will get better and become all-star caliber player.

Yea his stats may not show it BUT hes workin with players that are also getting better. Kirk isnt a shoot 1st player. Hes a playmaker... He has players such as Ben Gordon. Gordon needs the ball to have a good game. Gordon is becomen a better defender also. But with Gordon getting that much better it slows kirk down. being hes a PG. He passes...He also has Loul Deng who Also is getting better. He takes a alot of shots also.He has Noc. who takes shots as well not alot but he takes a good number...He also had Eddy Curry who needed the ball or he was good for nothing... Harrington takes alot of fast shots and when givin min he WILL shoot the ballSongila takes alot of shots getting around 12ppg.....Kirk even trys to get tyson shots . Trying to make tyson better. Same with duhon .. duhon might not look like he takes alot of shots but he does....If you watch kirk you KNOW hes getting better. In the 4th QT Kirk has helped this team out so much. He gets alot of his point in the 2nd half.Kirk doesnt really get alot of shots. And he is a good defender... Cause he gets one stl doesnt mean he isnt good...Bulls team is young and ALL are getting better. Kirk isnt a selfish player.. So he wont take shots all game or w.e to show hes getting better.
