Brian Colangelo, the Bulls are on line one. We offer Hughes, Nocioni and Gooden for O'Neal, Parker and Graham

Do you see lots of other suitors lining up? Colangelo reportedly called up six teams, it's not like they were calling him.

Noc's contract is an albatross considering his age and recent decline, and Gooden for O'Neal is a lateral move.

It might be an albatross, but it's declining and he can still play. Hughes can actually play too, but there's no minutes to go around in Chicago with Gordon and the imminent return of Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng.

Hughes is a significant upgrade to Parker. And personally, I think Parker's decline is related to losing speed with age. He's got decent size, however, and I think he'd be fine playing next to Hughes.

So basically, you're netting two players that would play big minutes for you, and breaking even on the guy you're giving up by getting Gooden back.

It's not a super sexy trade, I guess, but it does seem to address your team's needs.

And again, what are the other options? Do you really want to trade a useful player in Parker and your hope for the future (Bargnani) for asshat Josh Howard and Sagana Diop, whose contract is every bit the albatross Nocioni's is?

    I suppose I look at
    1- Calderon, Ukic
    2- Hughes, Parker
    3- Noc, Parker
    4- Bosh, Noc, Gooden
    5- Gooden, Bargnani, Humphries

    as tangibly better than
    1- Calderon, Ukic
    2- Antoine Wright!
    3- Howard, Parker
    4- Bosh
    5- Diop, Bargnani, Humphries

and also better than what you've got now, which is a team with really only 5 meaningful NBA players on it (Bosh, Calderon, O'Neal, Parker, Bargnani).

Trading with the Mavs subtracts two of those guys and adds one.
The trade with the Bulls I suggest subtracts one and adds two.
