Good for Melo, he definately deserves it, he got hosed out of the all-star game too. I'm pumped for 08', I think USA is bringing back the gold. Pierce, Melo, Bryant, Billups, Arenas, Brand, LeBron...the list goes on, they will dominate i think.
I'm interested to see how he will respond to his previous terrible olympics experience. I think he will rebound well, we've seen his breakthrough season in his third year, way up after a rather disappointing second season. Congrats Melo, I knew he was a special kid, he has a good attitude to want to mesh with his teammates and at the same time individually get better.
