Apparently her mom was more interested in running for office than protecting Bristol's privacy. If Bristol's mom thought it was fine to put her pregnant teenage daughter on stage (literally), it's hard to blame anyone else for it. barfo
were they? as far as i can remember, every time a president is elected, they capitalize on it with stupid damn coins/plates/etc. i disagree with you that they did not have that crap for anyone else but obama and ask you to prove it if it in reality "completely supports your point". even if true you also didnt see alot of things in 1979 or 1987 compared with today. like the internet.
Well, if people don't pay attention to journalists anyway, then even if it were true (it isn't) that journalists gave Obama a pass, it wouldn't matter. And fantasyland hollywood types aren't under any obligation whatsoever to be unbiased. So I don't see what the complaint there could be. If people rely on them for their political news, oh well. It's probably not really any worse than relying on right-wing websites or what Joe Bob said down at the bowling alley or whatever. A certain fraction of people are going to believe uncritically whatever they hear. Maybe the democrats did reach such voters more successfully than the republicans this election cycle. If so, congratulations to them, and I guess the republicans will have to try harder next time. barfo
The demise of the newspaper industry is well documented. The rise of the blogosphere is well documented as well. The bloggers are more the source of the worst imitation of journalism than anything else... No, they're under no obligation to be unbiased. Their work is out there in the public record for all to see, and it consists of pro-socialist and anti-American themes. Like the slew of movies (Rendition, for one) released to influence public opinion during the election. Or Ted Turner (owned CNN and TNT) showing The American President back-to-back for days on end during Clinton's impeachment trial. It's one thing to be biased, it's another to spend $100s of millions outside the campaign finance laws to support a candidate. And I have equally the same issue with Rush Limbaugh's radio show being a 3-hour per day commercial for Republicans during the elections. If you think Hollywood is making these movies for profit, think again. The movies all bombed, but the trailers were shown on TV and were as effective as any political ad. And if they really were about profit, they'd be making G rated movies, as those are the most profitable. Maybe. Maybe republicans just didn't turn out in their normal numbers because they were fed up with elected republicans' massive increases and lack of focus on illegal immigration.
If you want to criticize Sarah Palin for being a bad mother, that's another debate. I could accuse guys like Bill Clinton for being a bad parent for knowingly engaging in an affair with another woman knowing there was a chance it could get out, but it'd be pointless.
It's not a double standard. You just fell for a standard GOP mind trick. Obama said families are off limits, how does what SNL writers come up with have to do with Obama?
