I might be off, but JO, i dont think anyone wants to have him on their team, the only team i could see him on is heat. Possible trade idea:
Shawn Marionand Marcus banks for O'neal and cash
    Improvement for both team!!

    Please discuss what you think

Miami would have to be held at gun point to accept that deal

The Bulls would be happy to take him in the right deal. Which means sending you Hughes and Nocioni at the very least.

They won't trade Gordon unless we give up Parker and a draft pick along with JO. I would like Larry and Noc on this team. Both bring shooting and defense and can be contributors right away. Do it up BC!

Yeah, I think O'Neal for Hughes and Noc should have some merit. I'd be willing to throw in Gooden too as a Bulls fan (taking back someone like Graham?) but that'd push you guys into the luxury tax range again.

Man you are pushing this hard. Who do you think you're going to get through to? O'Neal's a more valuable commodity next year. I don't buy the rumours that Colangelo is trying to trade him now, at least not for anything less than a sweetheart deal.

the only trade BC would do is Marion and banks for O'neal, why? because Miami gets very solid PF/C (i mean if your going for that fat fuck eddy curry thats just beyond stupid) and raps get a semi back up PG and a upgrade to wing spot

I'm pushing hard because everything I read makes it sound like Colangelo is pushing hard :)

I dunno that O'Neal has that much more value down the road either. By and large, you don't get great offers for expiring contracts unless you package something else up with them.

well, i don't think using the gasol trade proves much except this:
the Lakers were given a steal trade and everyone knows it. Pau was not traded at value, but to make the grizzlies much worse as a team. trading JO and his contract will give the recipient team a headache. our only real trade fodder is Jason, bosh or bargs at this point all the rest would not make any team in the league except ours...

For every Gasol trade, there are several big expiring contracts who expire unwanted (Tim Thomas for example).

I think your offer makes sense Mike, but I bet Colangelo would have the Bulls to substitute Drew Gooden (expires in '09) in for Nocioni (expires in '12). Every indication since the JO trade was made, has pointed to the Raptors making a more serious attempt to build a contender in 2009/2010. The cap space they'll be getting around then will be tremendous and it'll be enough to bring in some serious talent, with or without Bosh.

The two years before that space are kind of a bonus for Colangelo, IMO. I think he wanted to see the team succeed during that time, but he wasn't as firmly committed to it as he was the 2010 plan (as evidenced by his refusal to trade young assets who could be valuable in the future). If the team succeed, great, if not, he could continue to plan ahead.

The first half of this season has made it pretty clear that they won't be all that successful before 2010, making that plan all the more important. I think Colangelo would be perfectly content to sit on JO's contract for the next year and a half and use the resulting cap space if there weren't the potential for him to cause chemistry problems when he returns for injury, and that's really the only reason he'd shop him.

    Can I start a rumour?
T-MAC for JO hear me out:
    1) both almost have same injuries
    2) Its a win win scenerio, Houston would start: Alston/shane/artest/JO/yao can you really hate that? lol
    3) T-mac major boost to the 3 spot
    4) JO isn't helpin bosh and AB is dominating so far
    5) lastly, IF tracy would wanna be a raptor again then the starting line up would be off the chain imagine: PG (who ever outta the 3 lol), parker, tracy, Bosh, Bargs wow!!!!!!

Yes im crzy, but I want to see raptors in playoffs this year not 2010!

Well first off, I don't see the Rockets being all that interested in JO. They've got a solid enough frontcourt with Yao, Landry, Scola, Mutumbo. They don't have any motivation to add JO and his huge contract.

But more importantly, I don't see what's so enticing about T-Mac. I was a huge fan of his when he was in Toronto and expected big things, but the fact is that he's become a chronically injured malcontent. Every sign from Houston indicates that he's worn out his welcome in Houston, which would make it the second team in a row. We all get on Vince Carter for the crap he pulled at the end of his Toronto tenure, but McGrady's antics over the last 5 years probably mirror VC's the most out of any player in the league (which is funny when you consider that they're cousins... there's something wrong with that gene pool). We'd be trading a potential headcase for a definite one.

Point taken, but who else can raps trade for? take a look at every team's roster and see who raps could trade for? why do u think i proposed marion and t-mac, not many players have big contracts. and trading little guys like kapono garahm wont give raps anything back u kno what im sayin?
I proposed this deal simply because theres very few options, who would you rather have on ur team? Cancerous Hughes and old Noc or T-mac?

I dunno. I see your points, but were I Colangelo, I'd be very concerned that if I don't field a highly competitive team over this season and next, Chris Bosh will up and leave. And if that happens, having cap space in 2010 won't matter much.

Likewise, if Bosh stays, I don't think most guys in the NBA look at Toronto as the sort of place they want to come play, even if it meant coming to play with Bosh. That really blows, and it's ignorant on the part of big name NBA players, but I think that's the reality of it.

So I suppose if I were BC, I'd be trying to maximize my wins right now. If you can get two or three players for one, that's going to help what looks like a pretty shallow team.
