Is it me or does it seem like more people are becoming seriously ill. I know that isn't the case, but man it seems to involve people I either know or am familiar with. I hope he is able to get well, and get well soon
The LMU family wishes Bill continued progress in his comeback from the emotional distress triggered by responsibilities associated with being a head coach," Husak said. "Bill Bayno will always be a Lion
Bill Bayno drank himself out of a job at UNLV and out of coaching for a long time. It's why the Blazers job was viewed as a resurrection. To me, this sounds like he fell off the wagon.
Actually, I heard it was depression. Clinical depression. Pretty commonly surfaces in addicts after they stop self medicating. I hope he recovers.
Bill Bayno and I became friends when I was following the team on the road last year. I really hope he's okay. He's a good guy and he always worked hard with LMA on his post moves every night.
Bill always seemed like a great guy, but a guy who was wound really tight and was very passionate about his job. He reminded me of Tim Grugurich. If you remember, Grugs also quit UNLV due to stress. Some guys are great coaches, but just aren't emotionally prepared for the grind that it takes on you. I would love to see Bayno back here. Hard workers with a high basketball IQ are not easy to find.
