Kobe held Wade to 5-14 shooting and 13 points including 0 in the 4th while Kobe was on him. Note that this is just Kobe guarding Wade.

Proves that Kobe deserves those 1st team all defense selections that he gets.

Yea... But he will undoubtedly be relace by Wade in this years All - Defensive Team... It'll be CP3, Wade, LBJ, Whoever and Dwight (Mythical Five will be similar)...

or maybe they can put LBJ at the 4 and Kobe at the 3

Kobe is one of, if not, the only superstar in the league that fiends to defend the other teams best player when the game is on the line. The only other one that comes to mind is LeBron.

And don't take my lines, kiddo.

This team, including Kobe, can play defense when focused. Too bad we don't do that consistently.

When was LeBron a good defensive player? Just wondering. Wade isn't what I'd call stout either. You do realize there's more to defense than just steals, right?

how could somebody think a player is better defensively by stats? thats how fuukin marcus camby won defensive player of the year, bullshit, defense is true basketball that cannot be measured by numbers, its unwise to say wade is a better defender because of steals, same with CP3. i dont know it just makes me mad when your trying to teach kids and coach them into knowing what defense means, and nba stats and defensive teams and all that just sends them the wrong message, agh, forget it.

That doesn't even look like an All-defensive team. I think the All-defensive team should at least include Shane Battier, arguably one of the best one-on-one defender in the league.

He shut down Paul Pierce in the Cavs win against the Celtics a couple of days ago. Not sure how much he guarded Pierce, but that's what everyone's been saying.

And I agree, Battier is vastly underrated.

He's still underrated. The dude plays amazing defense, and can knock down open shots.

Ok...what did he do against Pierce in the biggest game of his season last year though in game 7 of the ECSF...? He got torched. Until LeBron shows some type of consistency on that end, I'm not gonna buy him being a good defender. He may fill the stat sheet on defense, but he takes idiot gambles doing that.

cause they've had better defensive seasons, lol.......I also saw Wade take it to Kobe in their first matchup....1st team defense awards should be given to players who consistently play great D....for as good a defender Jordan was in his younger days he was handed a lot of All Team 1st Defense awards in his older age, because of his reputation........

any other season I'd agree with this, but Shane's D has been slippin this year.....maybe it's cause the injury :dunno:

if I had a 1st team defense this year it would look like this

    pg - ?????...maybe CP3
    sg - ?????...maybe Wade
    sf - Lebron
    pf - Garnett
    c - Howard

well big games are going to happen...sometimes a guy is just on.....I've seen big games put up on even some of the greatest defenders of all time like Joe Dumars, Hakeem, Jordan, Pippen, Bruce Bowen, Ben Wallace, Mutumbo etc....Lebron has been incredibly consistent on the defensive end this year and so have the Cavs as a team....

Wade doesn't even guard Kobe on the other end. He gets the night off on defense every game and Marion draws the tougher defensive matchups. Wade is basically playing free safety and gambling by cheating off his man. It's a great scheme by the Heat, because Wade excels at it and Miami gets a lot of transition buckets from his steals and deflections, but as an individual man on man defender he stinks.

LeBron has been a stud on the defensive end this year.
