Sorry I don't have a link, but I heard somebody suggested that one of the dunkers put a digital camera on the back of the rim. While throwing it down, snap a shot of themselves, then show it to the TV camera. Sounds dope, but wouldn't the camera fall? D12 could do it!

I'm not a big fan of the gimmicks... the cupcakes, the capes, the retro unis, pulling people from the crowd... some of the 'best' dunks from the last few contests have been ordinary dunks trumped up by gimmicks. How about this: make a one million dollar reward for the contest winner to lure the superstars back and go away from this 'rising stars' excuse.

When it was in Vegas, I heard that Nate-Rob wanted to set up a portable blackjack table and have a hot chick in a Playboy Bunny costume as a dealer and set her up in the key and then he was going to jump over the whole thing and throw it down.

I hear you on the gimmicks, but that would have been SICK!

I quit watching the slam dunk contest. It got annoying to me, and I was a bit upset when D12 won when he didn't even dunk the ball. If I was a judge I would have gave him a 0 on the superman dunk because he didn't even dunk it.

I think it is Bill Simmons' idea, not my own, but still worth experimenting with. If they did 'the wheel of dunks' they can do anything.

My favorite contest was 1988 in Chicago! MJ vs 'Nique. Wilkins should have won, but they gave it to Mike. PS- I just got back from staking out the lobby looking for Air Jordan himself. No luck yet!

Jordan vs 'Nique put on the best dunk contests. No other dunk contests come close... although Vince was pretty amazing a few years ago.

I don't think he's around very often, at least from what I've read. An exiled leader who exiled himself?

If Rudy gets voted in, he should bring Oden with him. Have Oden dawn a super man's cape, and then dunk over him. Hehehe....

I like speeds idea of bringing in more money to bring guys like LeBron, Vince, Jay Rich, Desmond, back to dunk. Carmelo, etc... I wanna see superstars throw that shit down.
