You just can't go wrong with the old school look! Right now the Hornets are playing the LeBron's and they are wearing the Hardwood Classics. NOLA is wearing the old New Orleans Bucs jerseys. They are sick! A- The Blazers should bring back those mid-70's Lenny Wilkins jerseys and B- All the Choklahoma City Sonics needed to do was go with a retro look, yet they chose those shit-uni's !!!!
Blazers Retro Jerseys need to = 76/77 title unis. They've already done the Geoff Petrie/Sidney Wicks tribute. I want to see Oden and Roy with the vertical "Blazers" on the right side. I'd buy those jerseys in a heartbeat.
OT Cleveland Retros Will they PLEASE stop wearing them? They even wore one that looked like the damn Warriors from the Run TMC days..every other time I see them play (which is on a consistent basis because they are on ALL THE TIME).
Re: OT Cleveland Retros Now my man might have taken the Little Yellow School Bus, but he's SPECIAL, not SLOW! MAS, do you still wear a helmet?
Seriously, how many uniforms does Cleveland have? I think I can count six off the top of my head they've worn this season. Last week when they hosted Boston, it literally looked like they were wearing some sort of Laker uniform rip-off. -Pop
Cleveland is in a bit of a pickle right now. They are, without saying so, trying to milk LeBron and the success that he's bringing to the Cavs for everything it's worth while they can, before 2010. I wouldn't hold it against them to change unis every damn game and sell them in their shops.
It wasn't the uniform that won them the championship though. To me it says Blazers vertically, and it incredibly hard to read.
Okay, how about this: when the team was last wearing that uniform was for me the high point of their existance as a franchise. The following year, they switch to the uniform that they kept through the 80s and early 90s, and Walton breaks his foot, Lucas gets pissed off about his contract, and the "dynasty" is over before it began. Fast forward three decades of mediocrity and occassional brilliance, always with a sour ending to each season. So you'll have to forgive me if there's a soft spot for that admittedly amaturish-looking uniform in my heart, because the last time I saw a Portland team wearing it, they were hoisting a trophy (pictured left).
