Haha, Vince Young took the Wonderlic IQ test at the combine and he scored a 6! That's horrible. The average for football players is 19 on that test. Vince Young did retake it and some places are saying he got a 16 which is still below average, but some places are saying he got a 6 again! That's hilarious.Saw this on another message board:Vince Young, what is the capital of Mississippi?VY: tuck the ball and runVY, what is the boiling point?VY: tuck the ball and runVY, what is the scientific method?VY: tuck the ball and run
QB's have to make a lot of decisions and are the leaders of the team. If they are that stupid than that's not a good thing. I mean, this is such a horribly low grade, my little brother might've done better, seriously. I saw some of the questions on a Wonderlic test. Not too hard.
Wow some athletes are stupid? :flex: is this really that surprising? if you've ever heard Vince Young talk he's definately not the brightest guy around.
When he has to read more complex defenses in the NFL I'm sure his tiny little brain will have some trouble. I mean, this was an incredibly low score. I think I beat his score after doing 1/3 of the Wonderlic test...And this is even stupid for football players. The average score for football players is 19. He got a 6 in TWO TRIES. :worthy:Actually he got a 16 on his second try so that's better for him. If he got a 6 in 2 tries it would have hurt him in the draft. Especially since he's not going to be throwing in the combine either.
Hes a great QB who cares if hes stupid. If teams dont want him let him slide to the Dolphins in the draft
Great college QB yes. I think he'll have trouble in the NFL. He won't be able to run all over NFL defenses and he will throw a lot of INT's. In college he threw a lot of them for a "great" QB. He's not that great of a passer. I think he'd be better off as a WR were less thinking is required.
I could have beaten him if I was in 3rd Grade!Anyway, McNair and Marino had horrible Wonderlic Scores, but they turned out good.
I think Marino had an 18 on his first try...Young had 1/3 of that score. I think you may turn out good if he goes to Tennesee and be tutored by McNair who is his friend and was a QB that ran a lot like him. If Young goes anywhere else I'm doubtful that he'll do anything.
Marino did get an 18(I'd take what I heard on a football forum rather than what I heard here) and Young got a 6 on his first try. That's a lot worse. Young will have trouble with the more complex offenses and defenses in the NFL if he's as dumb as a middle schooler. You have to be smart as a quarterback though. It's important to be smart or at least have average smarts if you're leading the team.

And many people forget Daunte Culpepper couldnt get a scholarship for a while because his grades were so terribly bad, even though he was ranked the Best QB in the nation,School has nothing to do with athletics, Young is obviously very football knowledgeable considering he nearly won the Heisman! This is stupid we're even debating this.
Yes, IQ is the same as Algebra. And yes, Charles Barkley and Karl Malone were the point guards and had to lead the team. I bet John Stockton and Kevin Johnson weren't stupid.

And there was also a guy by the name of Joe Namath who wasnt too bright but had a ''decent'' career.
The majority of team leaders probably had an ounce of brains I bet. I doubt any of those guys would have scored a 6. Vince Young is one of the very few. Did you even see any of the sample questions from the Wonderlic? Vince Young has the brains of a 6th grader, maybe some elementary school kids are smarter.

Football-wise I think he's proven long ago he's smart enough to run a team. Whether he's the next business manager is questionable.
I just felt like making fun of him. I know some athletes are dumb but even in the NFL the average is 19. Getting a 6 on your first try is just pitiful.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (PrimeTime @ Mar 2 2006, 04:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Well he's smart enough to go undefeated, have a 500+ net yard game in the rose bowl! and beat the greatest college team ever, with two Heisman winners on it. He threw a lot of interceptions for an "elite" college QB and in the NFL the offenses will be harder to learn and the defenses will be a lot harder for him.
I'm not going to say he won't be good because he's dumb because you never know. This is pretty funny though. I could see him giving this answer:
