Supposedly Toquinho broke his hand in the first round of the Horn fight.

They should subtract money for the worst fight of the night. Rua looked horrible.

Why do you guys think Rua looked horrible? Because if he performs like that against Chuck, than Chuck'll fuck him up. Could it be rust from not fighting in awhile? Could it be not being used to the octagon? Or is his career and his hype, over?

“I stayed sidelined for one year and a half. I went through surgeries. That is not easy, and that took a lot of my conditioning. It’s one thing to train and another thing to fight. When you get back to fighting, you have to get back your rhythm. I paid a price for that, but I’m sure that by my next fight, I’ll be more prepared and in better shape, with better conditioning, to give my fans a great show.”

The over-reactionists at Sherdog were ready to throw Shogun off the cliff with his performance. I figured it was due to ring rust and not fighting since UFC 76 (I think that is when it was) and coming off two major surgeries on his knee.

I thought shogun was just toying with Coleman until he had a chance to sub him with something that would break some limb.
Also, I am disappointed that Kang lost, hopefully it was just first time jitters.

I still haven't seen that particular fight, but from everything I've read, Shogun looked rusty as hell.

How in the hell did anyone score that 30-27 Franklin?? or 30-27 for anyone...

Dan definitely took the 2nd, Rich definitely the 3rd.

Tough call in the 1st but I'd say Dan took it.

I didn't think Rich was even close in the 1st, either. Dan landed that huge right and I believe a take down. Dan controlled the first two. The idiot judge who went 30-27 for Rich was a fucking idiot and shouldn't be allowed to judge again.

    word.

    29-28 Hendo ftw!!

Dan got a tad tired in the 3rd but sucked it up and kept fighting. The first 2 rounds I thought he was very active, Rich is just a tough guy to finish.

I thought the Lytle/Davis fight really delivered. I think the difference was Davis's sharp kicks that peppered Lytle's ribs and legs and the fact that Lytle is constantly throwing bombs and he lost some zip as the fight wore on. He's a warrior so he keeps coming, but I bet if you asked Davis, he'd admit that Lytle's punches lost some oomph in the 3rd. Lytle dropped Davis pretty hard in the 1st and I think that's why he was out of sorts the rest of the round.

Palhares controlled Horn for most of the fight, but good golly the man has to work his stand up in a bad way. He should have been able to finish Horn who was on the defensive for 90% of the time.

Damn, Kang really has lost something. How can training with GSP NOT make you a gas machine?? I think the old Pride vs UFC debate can be put to bed, the Pride guys have looked bad for the most part or been inconsistent. The best fighter thus far has been rampage and that's largely due to him having a good training camp (even if his manager was scuzzy).

I give props to Coleman for toughing the fight out, he should have been stopped in the 1st. I hope it's just ring rust for Rua because he looked like he was missing something for sure.. like say Vitamin S, which I believe several Pride fighters are missing.

    LOL Vitamin S : ], I completely agree.

Hendo gassed in that third and I think some of those kicks from Franklin to the mid section had something to do with it.

I love Franklin, though. In between the 1st and 2nd round, they showed his corner and he saw his cut on the big screen and he goes, "That is one of the worst ones I've ever had." He's fucking awesome. Hope he can recover at 205 and string some wins together. I'd love to see Franklin vs. Wanderlei

I'm a big fan of Rich's too, but when I looked at whom Rich has beaten the crap out of and whom Dan has.. I chose Dan.

I hope Rich gets a couple of W's at 205, but I think it's going to be hard for him to contend. At 185 he was huge compaired to other's. Now he's average and will be dwarfed by guys like Rampage and Forrest.

He is still a precise enough striker with good enough cardio to be respectable at 205, though. His ground game isn't that bad, either.

yup, but I don't see him able to KO the big boys, but he might get put on his ass.
Which sucks, because I'd love to see a class act like Rich have success.

I feel bad for him because he knows Silva has his number @ MW so he can't fight down there, and you're right about him at LHW. Where does he go from here? Hope someone gets a flash KO on Silva so he can contend for the MW belt again? Nobody wants to see Franklin/Silva III.

Mark Coleman, in typical fashion, isn't taking the loss well...

The Coleman fight was not stopped premature. I know there was only 15 seconds left but he wouldn't have beenable to defend himself in those 15 seconds. I have no problem with the fight being stopped at all.
