Odom rumors are a dime a dozen but... link Im sorry but this is BS...On hoopshype they argue that Bynum has been a disappointment and that the Lakers need rebounding help. Our rebounding can improve but a move like this is just retarded. Odom is a great rebounder. Didnt we already avoid the mistake of trading for O'neal? He's been injured this season just like I, and Im sure others assumed. It would be a total crapshoot on if he was healthy for the playoffs and odds say probably not.
There is a thread on Minn forum talking about how they might be trading Miller to free up cash. He has this year and next at 9mil each. Miller and Foye for Odom works....whatcha think? I just asked that on their forum. I know its a logjam of bigs for them but its just a salary dumping move so who cares
I dont trust a damn thing Hoopshype says. Though i could see a JoHo for Odom deal being somewhat good for both teams. I dont see Minny trading for Odom just because of our gluttony of PF's. Sure he can back up just about every position but I dont think we would give up much for him just because he'd be a 1/2 year rental. I think a Travis Outlaw and Raef Lafrentz for Odom deal would be solid. Outlaw is young, a good shooter, good slasher, good defender, good rebounder. Can be a spark off the bench or a starter and Lafrentz is an expiring whos contract is like 85% covered by insurance.
No way in hell would that happen...Minnesota wouldn't morgage the future for a 1/2 season player. Foye is finally starting to come into his own....and Minnesota doesn't need cap space at all....they have plenty. Besides if Miller does end up being traded, it will be for either a PG or Center....With Big Al and Love...Odom isn't needed
Lamar for Mike Miller wouldn't hurt, but we already have Radman, who plays similarly, and Lamar for some elite pointguard, who can defend, would be way better in our situation atm. I'm sure Odom's expiring contract can do better than Miller.
I dunno, who did you have in mind that you could trade for. Normally i would agree, but teams arent really fighting in line to get 09 expirings, they are trying to get the 2010-enders. Im not sure there is much more out there to trade for.
If it expires in 2009, its not there to expire in 2010. Antoine Walker had to be bought out. He was a pretty big expiring himself.
If it expires in 2009 it won't be on cap for 2010. So technically it also expires in 2010. Same thing.
