So is it safe to say its time to lower expectations on this season?

One per week? You must have him on semi-ignore then. It's at least one a day that he blesses us with his charming ways.

As long as we are above .500 we're moving in the right direction.

My expectations are the same as management's . . . to make the playoffs.

I haven't lowered those expectations and I don't think management has either.

I think you might have misinterpreted their quotes . . . but if their goal is no longer the playoffs, then yes they lowered expectations.

I think we've been through this, KP stated this season would be a disappointment if they didn't make the playoffs. He said that last year when evaluating the team after the season and what he expect next season. The players echoed his thoughts, so making the playoffs was the expectation this year.

And personally I'm sticking to that because how many years of not making the playoffs can one fan take. :D

I originally predicted 47 wins this season. Based upon the first half of the season and the fact that the Blazers have an easier second half than first half, I think my prediction is significantly low. I'm going with 52 wins, a lock for the playoffs, and a good shot at winning their first round matchup.

With Roy at 80% and Blake out for a month, we could be headed for a real ugly stretch. I predicted 45-48 wins, based on how healthy the team stayed, so I am not lowering that.

SA only beat the cats by 2... everyone drops games, hell, I am sure Boston wasn't happy about their loss to us on the 30th

Not defending our performance, but I am not going to get my panties in a bunch over it.. that consistency is part of the learning curve

there's still time to go 33-8!!

In my halcyon world, Blake's injury actually helps us. We're actually getting to "evaluate" how our unknown young players play together. Nate's created a kind-of-cool, out-of-the-box PG monster where, instead of starting Bayless and letting Sergio play with comfort-zone buddies on the White Team, he starts Sergio (helping out whatever mental hangup may be there, though I personally don't think there is one) and Bayless coming in early to work with the rest of the starters for a couple of minutes. Then Sergio coming in with the rest of the White Team, and riding the hot hand from there.

I'm ecstatic that the team seemed to work on some hi-lo breakouts out of the vanilla Iso offense. Oden's getting the ball in the paint and on the move, which seems to play to all of his strengths and minimize his weaknesses in footwork and confidence with his shot. Once the others saw that he could walk and handle a basketball at the same time without kicking it to the defense or traveling, it seemed that a light bulb went off in their head. Sergio found him on a wrap-around-the-head blind pass in the 4th, knowing Oden was trailing. He still kind of muffed it, but recovered nicely and got the bucket.

Depending on whether Blake's out 2 weeks or 4 weeks, he may be the 5th guard when he gets back. :dunno: And I can't say I'd disagree much if the young PGs are playing at the level we saw in the last 3 games. Sure, there are mistakes, but the types that Bayless and Sergio are making are the ones that can be alleviated by knowing your role, knowing that you're going to play, and being thrust into different game scenarios at game speed.

What the hell are you talking about? The team is on pace to win 50, and the hardest part of the schedule is over. I predicted 52, and I still feel pretty good about it. Injuries could screw things up, but that's possibility for any team in the league.

What's frustrating to me isn't so much losing, but playing below our talent level. If we're outplayed by a better team, so be it. I just hate seeing our guys play bad defense or let other teams beat them to loose balls. Little things like that are so irritating. I know this team is good. I know we can beat anyone in this league. I hate watching us lose to teams like the Bobcats.
