http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=290119022 Bayless was + 2. The only + guy off the bench.
David Robinson AVERAGED 24 & 12 Shaq AVERAGED 23 & 14 Ewing ONLY averaged 20 & 9. With those averages, though, I can't imagine he never had a 24/15 game. In LeBron's FIRST GAME in the pros, out of high school, he recored 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals and shot 60% from the floor Of course, Oden missed an entire year of basketball and is more raw talent than those do. I'm not saying that Greg should be playing that well now. We don't need him to play that well and all I really want out of him is a double double and a couple blocks and I'll be happy. I was just responding to your question.
kingspeed... something we have in common on this board..... always being attacked by other posters which means we are different from the pack which bothers most

For different reasons. You are always negative, but Eric just has wide sweeping mood swings. He at least has positive threads. You only focus on the negative. That's who you are. That's who you've always been. You're Debbie Downer.
At least Eric roots for the Blazers to win, while you root for them to lose so they can just trade, trade, trade. I'd take Eric any day of the week.
I thought Sergio had a good game for him, for the most part, which happens once every three games it seems. He was talking to Greg a lot and seemed to be looking for him in the paint off the pick and roll. He even just forced it in at times, just knowing Greg was bigger than everyone else and would have a good chance of snagging it. Sergio did all right tonight, but still needs to at least be a threat to make a jumper or two to keep the defense honest.
its so sad that most dont realize this team needs a trade....but they will.....they will.... very soon
Yeah that was pretty hilarious. Love how G.O. loves to man up and just play ball without the flopping. I give Villanueva's flop a Fail, very bad acting.
But that's also because Oden, for instance, has wide sweeping swings in his play. I react to what I see.
Nope, says -1. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it Eric, we won and both guards played hard! http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=290119022 http://www.nba.com/games/20090119/MILPOR/boxscore.html
Yes, he did. And, he was 24 years old before he played his 1st NBA game. Let's see how Greg is doing four seasons from now. Comparable age to Greg, but three years college experience and no microfracture surgery. 23-year old rookie with four seasons of college ball and no microfracture. Those guys are all 1st ballot Hall of Famers. I wonder if Oden is putting up numbers like Robinson, or even Ewing, at a comparable age, if people will finally cut him some slack. What do you think? 20 and 9 three years from now, or 24 and 12 four years from now. Will that be enough, or will people still be "disappointed" in his performance and will we still have to endure the Trade Oden Now!!! threads after every game? BNM
I don't need him to ever average 24/12. I'd be happy with career averages of 15/15/3. That'd be awesome. I'd also rather him average less and be a winner than average more and be losers like Robinson (loser before Duncan) and Ewing. All I want from him THIS year is to be ACTIVE. If he's active and gets 9 & 6, I can deal with growing pains, but when he only grabs 4 rebounds in 31 minutes over two games and looks depressed out there and let's himself get pushed around, then I can't stand it.
I think you missed the point of my question / curiosity... I wasn't asking IF another first overall pick had put up 24/15. I know many have. I was responding to MIXUM claiming: Unless you can show me that the majority of #1 overall picks have put up 24/15 in their rookie season, then the idea that #1 overall picks are "SUPPOSED TO DO" this is ridiculous. If, on the other hand, the players you mention are the only ones who put up 24/15 for a game in their rookie season (they aren't the only ones) then what Oden did was very impressive, and nobody can claim this is what he is "SUPPOSED TO DO".
